Given that ‘college graduates’ seem to be the group least likely to be fooled by fascist propaganda and idiotic brocasts; Education takes time and commitment (and diplomas are expensive). While there’s an unlimited supply of ‘non-college’ voters who are… let’s say easily weaponized to billionaire’s causes.

Not to mention the latest generation seems the most hopeless and nihilistic of all, fueled by failed politics and supreme court (and social media garbage that causes brain damage).

The only hope I have left is that T****'s second term is such a terrible fucking nightmare that it produces an unbeatable progressive, populist left-wing that steamrolls the Democratic primaries. (lol, lmao even. RIP America.)

Exactly. I play lots of games (anything with a story and decent ratings), but haven’t bothered with multiplayer in probably a decade. Too many children and terrible people that will ruin the experience.

Related: I wish more people would simply choose to abandon every fucking thing that is infested with abuse, trolls, propagandists, bots, or just has terrible moderation. (I recently tried Bluesky and was amazed by the innovative user-controlled moderating tools, which puts all others to shame.)

To think that a Democrat (Gillum, and not even white!) was within 0.5% of governing and deleting Desantis not that long ago in the “swing state”… It’s unbelievable how quickly the maga cult has polarized and zombified so many people.

Especially Latinos (+30 R vs 2020?!). Lots of “But I’m not an illegal immigrant!” when the ICE raids start up. “Sorry, your name’s on the list.” Off to the camps they go. Big whoops.

Also, it will take a few days for all votes to be counted, in more populous areas, California, west coast. Don’t know where it will land, but I think it’s clear that D’s especially did not vote in great numbers.

Happily voted Harris, to defeat the christian fascists. But I think her concession confirms that she was never going to be the fighter we needed.

First, Democrat’s gamble on pushing aside the progressive core (thanks to incorrect reading of Biden popularity and protests over Israel’s genocide) in favor of a coalition of former Republicans and mythical “decent conservatives” was a huge red flag. It has now proved absolutely catastrophic.

Second, “the high road” has rarely extracted more than the absolute minimum at the slowest possible pace. This election proved it has failed us. Peace is not an option anymore. Unfortunately, we’re going to need to fight ruthlessly for every inch. Entrenched billionaire oligarchs, funding literally insane religious extremists and domestic terrorists. They will gleefully turn up the heat on our formerly cold civil war with their brutality over the next few years.

“We’re going to throw you and your entire family out of this cult if you don’t obey!”

Citizens United invited them, legalized it. It took them a few years to get comfortable with it. Stolen supreme court, corrupted useless congress, fascist cult… I’m sure this will end well.

I love that this is a headline by (checks notes)… AP and PBS. During the most critical point in the election.

Trump’s addled brain continues to spiral, obviously exhausted, wildly deranged, incapable of focus or discipline. “Elder abuse” some would question. “Weekend at Bernie’s” others would observe, noting the billionaires behind him, desperately hemorrhaging cash to prop him up.

And yet, almost one hundred million Americans will still vote for him. What a magical time to be alive.

I have no doubt there are ordinary people saying this, but yes, they are probably just regurgitating the lies that are fed to them (by the usual suspects). It is not difficult, they’ve never experienced it, but they are still afraid of it (surprise).

If ranked choice is not in our future, our future is dire. If it’s “too difficult”, we shouldn’t even be allowed to vote.

Even when the wealth is literally from foreign “investments” (bonus if obvious enemies) and criminal activity (tax avoidance, money laundering, fraud stocks, crypto, etc).

SCROTUS absolutely fucked us with Citizens United. “MoNeY = SpEeCh!?” Congress failed us by not passing campaign finance reform or any relevant laws. Americans failed us by being easily influenced by political ads and generally brain dead.

Potential damage. It’s much easier to destroy things than to build them, and the damage can be done quickly. (Even more so when a handpicked court gives the president more power.) People should fear deranged fascists and keep them out of office.

I can only imagine the kind of impenetrable bubble this extremely small, privileged group of people live in. Especially after a decade or more.

Making up (increasingly unprecedented) rules that 1/3 of a billion people must live by. With no possible repercussions for corruption, incoherence, anything. We should’ve been very careful who we added to this court. Extremist christian fascists using a useful idiot to replace over 1/3 of court (so far!) is a nuclear bomb waiting to explode.

Fully weaponizing “his platform” to influence the election. Painting a target on his back, making more enemies by the day. (Only this time, it’s not just his drug-induced paranoia.) Gambling everything, once again. Accidentally buying “the town square” was his biggest mistake.

I hope there is an October surprise of leaked health documents and articles. (Those darn hackers again!) Unless he never sees any real doctors, the ugly truth is out there somewhere. It might remind enough people that they shouldn’t actually check that box for the confused, terminally angry, obese, 80 year old madman.

They want to like him, at least the persona they hear about. Then they’re faced with the ugly reality… and must quickly retreat back to their bunker before any doubts creep in.
