I mean, legally not wrong. The bay doors don’t explode…
Rejected from art school, you say?
It’s capitalism in the same way the Soviet Union was communism. No matter the theory, this is how these systems play out when real humans are in charge. That said, humans can clearly do better than the US system. Western Europe is full of counterexamples of semi-capitalism done better.

Fox News and some other outlets like it are pure propaganda. I don’t have an answer to it, but it’s very frustrating that we’re apparently so defenseless and helpless against something that’s intent on destroying democracy. We have no active defenses.

That’s not unique to capitalism. That’s just what living in a society made up of humans is like. Incompetence and malice (whichever applies) will exist for as long as there are people.
Are women more emotional than men? Maybe. Maybe not. But I’ve never heard anyone accuse Hillary Clinton of being too emotional.
Never let this guy negotiate anything. How does he get through life with that attitude?

You’re not wrong; highly regulated markets like medicine can be extremely dysfunctional. But lemonade is not medicine, so I feel like you’re moving the goalposts a bit here.

It actually works both ways. They try to produce the most attractive (not best!) product at the lowest cost.
Huh, they’ll name Linux distros anything these days…
In fact a core demand of the yellow vest protests were… the lowering of a tax on fossil fuels. I think these guys might be the baddies, actually.
That’s just taxation. Which is something Sam really really hates. Easier to just borrow money forever. It’s risk free, after all.
They’re only the floor because they’re seen as risk free. “Why lend someone money for less than what the US government is offering you? The government is always gonna pay you back, after all”. If that mentality changes then treasury bonds will no longer be the floor, because you’d rather lend the money to someone else than the US government.
Not that this isn’t disastrous for the US. Increased taxes, cuts to medicare/medicaid/military, a government default, or a mix of all three are an inevitability. The US government can probably keep paying interest payment costs with more debt for a while, but not forever. These movements in the bond market takes us closer to the end of the USA’s debt spree.
Aproval voting is the superior choice. Ranked choice sucks, and I don’t understand why people promote it.

Milei seems to be onto something in Argentina. Musk is just on something.
Tbf traditionally fathers saw their kids for brief moments in the mornings and evenings, and were otherwise at work while the wives were at home. At least until the kids themselves could work. The industrial revolution and its consequences, etc., etc.

Exactly. Let’s hope we get to have another bad US election rather than this being the last one.

I hope we’ll be able to do this again. There are worse alternatives.
