It’s a difficult issue. As someone on the left, I didn’t just arbitrarily choose to take up the fight for trans rights. Without external motivation, I would be happy to consider trans issues a non-issue for me, as a cisgender person.

But the right has targeted the trans community with hatred and violence. They want to pass laws that limit free expression.

I can’t just ignore the attacks against trans people because I think healthcare, wages, and housing are more important. If I don’t fight for trans people, I am allowing them to be oppressed.

Ask the Republican fascists why they keep making trans people their biggest fucking issue. They’ll just gaslight you, or course, but the answer is that it’s easier to unite their uneducated voting base with fear and hatred than it is to make any real promises about improving the American quality of life, because the latter will never be possible without deprioritizing the wealthy who own their campaign finances.

Don’t blame the left for standing up to the right’s bullying. We fight for trans people because the right is fighting against them. We’ll stop when they stop.

I need to remember that Lemmy users will upvote people who just repeat what the article says in a different order. Easy karma farming, apparently.

If you’re a capitalism supporter, this is likely good news. And long may the free market reign. If you’re a socialist, well, you better be organizing workers like there’s no tomorrow.

I think it’s bad news regardless of what you’re rooting for. Socialists are going to get exploited and harmed just as much as the capitalists are. The only difference is that the capitalists will say “daddy please” as the boot comes down.

Good lord, nudity isn’t even a real issue. I regularly swim laps at my local public pool, and the changing room and showers regularly see a mix of children and adults. I don’t see any kids getting their innocence destroyed in the locker room or showers, and we’re all naked in there.

People only care when it’s trans people wearing clothes. They don’t really care about nudity, they’re trying to create a moral panic about queer people by suggesting that they are a threat to children.

I live in a very liberal place, and people still throw their TVs and ACs into the fucking recycling dumpster. Americans are overall a very stupid group of people. Red areas doubly so.

As an actual cybersecurity expert, I can tell you that absolutely nothing in this writeup was logically sound. This guy is using the term “expert” as a way to fish for media attention. He hasn’t actually described any real method of attack, just rehashed a conspiracy theory with no evidence.

The bullet ballot thing is interesting, and worth looking into, but I need to actually validate that what he said about it jumping from 1% to 7% is actually true, and if that means what he says it means. 1:35,000,000,000 chances are rough, but show me the math if you’re gonna hand out figures like that.

The fact that he brings up “reparenting”, it seems fairly obvious that this is going to be done by authority of the state. He’s talking about taking people’s kids away from them if they medicate their children as recommended by their doctors.

Are these the same union leaders who backed Trump, because while they’re right about the need for reconstruction, I’d like to exclude any fascists from the effort.
