I mean just make a player join the game after halfway through the game, it’ll pretty much work that way. If you need more, add them a bit later.

Don’t feel guilty. Everyone has their own struggles. You can look at people who are in worse situation to get some perspectives in live. If it helps you to be positive that’s ok. But don’t use that as a way to disregard what you are feeling and why it’s a problem and how you may solve it. I call it “don’t be grateful someone stabbed you in the leg just because someone besides you got stabbed in heart and died”. Yes you’re better off, but you still need to worry about you and get better.

2·1 year agoThe design seems to be to prevent a single person going rogue and doing whatever. Not designed for when someone has won elections and start damaging the country.
All the nonsense of “Republic is not a democracy because democracy is mob rule and not good for minorities” seems to no longer work.
I’m worried that if there’s war you guys will be affected as well. Running further seems more reasonable.

5·1 year agoConsidering they adapt to tesla. A problem I see is them removing any need to have a common infrastructure to support all electrical vehicles. And just have charging stations and such that only work with tesla. So people are semi forced to buy it because government made infrastructure for it and other electric car companies can’t use that and can’t build all that for their cars. Don’t be that optimistic when they are literally there only for their benefits

24·2 years agoExtra note on this. NWS’s agenda also includes educating people about weather and climate and other things. Our engineering class about rainfall and such basically is in chaos right now because the person from NWS teaching it is no longer working there. So this will have long impact for future generations. Specifically since our engineering department already is very tiny compared to other departments.

politics @lemmy.world•What Republicans really mean when they blame 'DEI'
16·2 years agoThat’s why I keep saying banning a word or making a world “not professional” doesn’t do anything as long as people’s though doesn’t change. Like saying “don’t say black, say african American” doesn’t make them suddenly like them, they’ll still be racist. Changing words will just make them use a new word to mean the same thing.
Yeah there might be emotional things about certain words and not wanting people to use it can be understandable. It might be a step is a direction if it’s to be less humiliating or be inclusive. But just saying “don’t use this word, use this word instead” will make the new word mean the same thing with same derogatory meaning if people use the new word derogatorily. Now DEI has become that new word, and instead of claiming the word back, owning it, people might go “don’t say DEI” and come up with a completely new acronym while trying to “heal” from the past administration.

51·2 years agoI don’t know the cast system in india, but I’ve seen this sort of behavior a lot from immigrants. Specifically those that “came legally”, and hate other immigrants and think themselves superior to other immigrants and blk/ltno people here. They think they are same as wt people because they are “elite” from their area of origin. And many times they justify this racist behavior from current gov by comparing similar racist stereotypes they have from their place of origin. They just moved country, they were racist, now there are people who are racist to them, but they still look down at others instead of standing united.
Sorry for bad abbreviation, kinda don’t wanna leave words for it to be flagged somewhere by someone in future and tracked back.
If you do that noone is left coz apparently native Americans are not Americans to them.
Or let people with money/power now write whatever they want. Because who is going to stop them?

Programmer Humor@lemmy.ml•Oh boy what a beautiful regex. I'm sure it does something logical and easy to understand.
4·2 years agoYou forgot empty line. Since first part is
^.?$it’s one or zero of any character.
Sorry, I forgot about this. I meant to say any sane modern language that allows unicode should use the block specifications (for e.g. to determine the alphabets, numeric, symbols, alphanumeric unicodes, etc) for similar rules with ASCII. So that they don’t have to individually support each language.
I thought the most mode sane and modern language use the unicode block identification to determine something can be used in valid identifier or not. Like all the ‘numeric’ unicode characters can’t be at the beginning of identifier similar to how it can’t have ‘3var’.
So once your programming language supports unicode, it automatically will support any unicode language that has those particular blocks.
Now think, patents are similar things but for with more money. And imagine if someone else had similar idea and made slightly similar website you go sue them coz you had the idea first.

Problem I think is the API from the IRS being closed. You could still maybe use it generate pdfs and send it, but the tool allowed you to just click send. And also, no more updates from the official source could mean they get to change a few rules and make it obsolete. We could keep it up with a bunch of volunteers, but unlike other open source projects, this has a serious legal aspect that people might not be willing to take a risk.
