  • do you think workers got rights by asking nicely?

if factories didn’t get set on fire with the owner inside people would still be breaking their backs working 16h a day in conditions that shorten their lives by a year every month spent working, every day going deeper in dept to the company store. Oh and they asked for better conditions, they protested, they demanded, they went on strikes, but there was no way out.

violance isn’t the answer - violance is what happens when you take away someon’s hope. And this is not a new relevation:

Sun Tzu said ‘When you surround an army, leave an outlet free. Do not press a desperate foe too hard’

because a desperate, hopeless foe will fight to the death

oh no i respect your position of not wanting to watch it, i recommended it to you but i won’t somehow force you to see it.

i just don’t acknowledge your opinion of how you think you’d like no aspect of it, because well, you can’t know that without yk, having seen it

aww, well if you’re feeling adventurous one day and want to go exploring media you otherwise wouldn’t - i hope AtLA is the first on your list. the characters are really well written and it’s truly a great story. Do have a bit of patience with it though, the first few episodes were testing the waters, haha, and there’s many more single episode stories there with mostly just goofing around than in other seasons, a proper overaching storyline begins when the deadline is set

  • for older folks like those currently suffering from dementia - try christmas carols or religious music played/sung during the big religious ceremonies.

i spent years thinking what sort of music i could play my great grandma, because what music was even there in the 1930s in rural poland? but the last christmas we had with her we put on some christmas carols, and she came back alive a little. it was magical
