Why would you assume Nevada would want to secede?
It’s a bit disingenuous to pretend police and punishment in general are not a deterrent. Yes, reducing police has shown to reduce crime for some time in certain case studies, but not removing them.
Because it’s not about money for them, they’ve already surpassed that concept, it a about power. Us peasants aren’t quite evolved enough to understand that yet.
That’s not exactly true though. With excess, we’ve increased the needs and wants of individuals and scaled production to match. We could easily provide the same amount as before with less people, but every generation is leveraging the growth of the previous generation. Once we don’t grow in one generation, we’ll plateau and we won’t be ready for it. It’ll be the social version of an economic recession.
With the introduction of automation every decade (currently AI is the big one), unemployment rates will go up so we don’t even need as many working. Our capitalist brains just can’t fathom “handing out” extra resources.

2·1 year agoShow me the data.
Trump received less than 300k more votes in 2024 than in 2020. That is less than 1% increase. Adjusted for the voting population, he actually received less votes in 2024 than 2020.
Harris received about 10 MILLION less votes in 2024 than Biden in 2020, about a 13% decrease.
Sure, when you look at percentages, it seems like there was a swing, but that’s just not true. The data shows every year, Republicans vote for Republicans, but Democrats do not vote at all when they don’t fully support their leader (not even for a third party).
The exact same thing happened with Obama, but inverse. There were historically high increase in voter turnout because the constituents actually supported him.
Data shows that increase in voter turnout correlates with Blue wins. That’s not debatable.

2·1 year agoNot really. There wasn’t a huge swing of people switching from Democrats or independents to vote for Trump. Those target groups just decided not to vote. In other words, it’s not like more people are relating to Trump’s messages, but it’s people not relating with either’s message and feeling apathetic. This is why Trump bashing isn’t helping. There needs to be genuine improvement of the Democratic party itself.

1·2 years agoReally? USAA is still the best even when I shop around and they actually gave me money back last year.

I run multiple enterprise companies through it who are transferring significantly more sensitive data than me. I’m not as strict as some people here, so no, I don’t really care. I think it’s the best service, especially for free, so until things change, that’s what I’m using.
