I’ve been using Ganeti for like 15 years now, and I’m not sure what proxmox offers besides a nice GUI. I know how Ganeti works and getting up to speed on a new one doesn’t seem super interesting to me. Is anyone here familiar with both?

I think it’s one of those cases where whoever gets the nominated, the right wing agitprop machine will work overtime to throw wedges into the opposition and fins reasons for people to be Righteously Mad.

So there has to be some space for disagreement and common goals. Not ‘enemy of my enemy is my friend’ but at least ‘we are broadly going in the same direction and we can at least move the Overton window’.

I speculate that one equivalent is that city people tend to be more accustomed to manipulation and generally interacting with other humans, especially strangers. Your average rural person probably never meets strangers in a typical day. So if you’re a rural person in the city it’d be unbelievably overwhelming, forcing you into a defensive posture.

It also marks you as a rube. You might be perfectly intelligent and well educated but you’re vulnerable to being taken advantage of.

City people may come off as cold, manipulative, scary because of it. Unscrupulous people can take advantage of you more easily. You’re a mark.

It’s more cost efficient to use the whole bullet.
