Check if that raspberry pi is behind CGNAT. In that case you’ll need something else to tunnel through, like Tailscale that was mentioned elsewhere.

I spent an afternoon doing precisely that. Bought a domain, a vps, and setup pangolin. Can’t believe how smooth it went.

Unless you’re behind cgnat and without ipv6 support.
