It isn’t reality because they’re going after others but you have to consider it when making a law to counter them, it is part of what they say they’re doing. So crafting a law which will easily run into that wall means it will ultimately be reduced to inefficacy/removed. Delaying bad stuff is goof but something to actually stop it needs to be different because a delay is not infinite.

Antonio Delgado is challenging Hochul and I’m excited for that. Gillibrand unfortunately isnt up for a while yet. Schumer is up in 2028 and therefore the most likely for AOC to challenge at state level.

I dont think its extreme to prefer some larger leadership roles before the largest one in the country. Even Obama had a senator stint. Even with it I think he squandered certain opportunities for progress because of inexperience. I’d still vote AOC before Newsom by a large margin but there are also other potentials in the party. Those potentials aren’t as left as I’d like but they could be more effective at getting things done.

Arguably, FDR during his 3rd term and Reagan during his 2nd were both possibly in similar situation of incapacitation (Biden near end of his term was also questionable). Neither was removed and the first ladies (Eleanor and Nancy) managed a lot of the work…since that is Melania it could explain the increased speed of Russian benefit actions coming from this administration. Additionally, the cabinet is corrupt and thus has no incentive for removal unless he starts getting in the way of the cabinets’ own goals.

Yeah, idk my info bubble doesn’t give me a great feel for other places but so long as fair elections happen I’ve still got hope right now (though that varies…). Republicans are easily (and rightfully) blamed for a lot of stuff that is making life worse/harder for average Americans right now. Even many deep red states did have high level Democrat representation not too long ago, the surge in progressive representation and voices in my locale and state gives me some belief we can still eke out some positive progress.
