I’m not claiming it’s limited to pickups. I equally hate sedan drivers who do that shit.

lol your car is probably more suitable than mine are for towing, or at least no worse ('outback and Elantra, 15+ and 10+ years old, respectively). I maxed mine out hauling dirt home recently, had to make multiple trips. it was fine though, only 20 min each way.
I have the space to store it, and it’s easy to move by hand, so it works great for me. townhomes and apartments haven’t got the same opportunity.

yeah, modern vehicle regulations and manufacturer priorities are fucked up
I ended up getting a lightweight trailer for hauling full sheets, which is fine in a personal use case

pickups don’t inherently bother me. asshole vehicles of any type do - it’s just that *modern pickups are common offenders, often for false beliefs such as “my properly aimed headlights are fine”, when they are in fact not fine all the time because roads are not flat and smooth.
I have no problem with people using tools to get things done. I have problems with people being assholes to other people.

you are either an immigrant or an expat. you are not both
you were an immigrant. then you became an expat.

immigrants are, by definition, not based in other countries

emissions aren’t really the argument against modern pickups - it’s size, safety, and asshole factor (like bright ass white LED headlights four feet off the ground).
your new pickup probably gets the same fuel economy as my 18yo car
the other argument resources consumed when buying used vs new, which is, as I understand it, a difficult analysis to perform.
but yeah, people shouldn’t hate you for the fuel economy of your pickup that’s just as good as my old car. they should hate you for your obscenely offensive vehicle (if it is one, that is) that makes it difficult and dangerous to be around

damn, good efficiency for them considering they’re about a billion times richer than me
my gasses per dollar are way higher! the problem is obviously with people like me

fr, “but the bad guy told me to do it!” is really getting old

this site was actually better than most for me (with a pihole)
maybe it was just Android Chrome blocking pop-ups without telling me, but this was a cleaner read than most news sites nowadays where are you scroll a little bit and get one popup, scroll some more and get another, don’t touch the screen for 5 seconds and get another one, back up two lines and a banner that takes up half the screen shows up etc

yeah I usually go work out while it’s running lol, or do some yardwork or something

rely? no
find it a useful assist? yes
the Roomba can:
get under couches that my other vacuums cannot
deal with 90% of the average mess (dog hair and miscellaneous crumbs) without my input
pick up the little bits that you can never manage to sweep into a dust pan
do this within about 10-20% of the time it would take me to do it myself
things it cannot do:
vacuum carpets
get into corners
deal with large messes
typically, I will sweep crumbs and crap out of corners into the middle of a room. I do this all the way around this level of the house in under two minutes, which includes picking up the large clumps of fluffy dog hair that have accumulated along the walls and tossing them in the garbage and putting the broom back. I can then run the Roomba, and the only thing left to do after is brush/vacuum the carpets & rugs well.
I also like the mopbot thingy because that definitely takes less time than doing it myself

I hope we’re talking about an underfunded nursing home or something , because these traitorous pieces of shit don’t deserve basic decency. you have to give that to receive it.

what a fucking patriot

I thought coal was clean and beautiful, though?

well, you take out some terrorists before hand, don’t just off yourself without doing some good

nah, they’ll just do fuck all until ten years from now when people change back to the turd sandwiches

I wonder if it is by item or by dollar value. I imagine smaller businesses are often more likely to shoulder the burder of the tariff than larger, because they are more reliant on customer satisfaction. I’m talking out of my ass, though

similar thing with the Canadian Liberals and electoral reform
I’m doing what I can to foment disgust from another country
