Selfhosted@lemmy.world•self hosted browser sync?English
2·1 year agoI use xBrowserSync for bookmark syncing. The code hasnt been touched in a few years but it still works great. Set it and forget it. There’s also an android app - not sure about ios.
But it doesnt do browser tabs - just bookmarks.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Vaultwarden selfhosting, or bitwarden service?English
3·1 year agoThe only problem I’ve had with Bitwarden is their recent UI retool which ended up causing a huge ruckus among the user base to the point where they gave an option to switch back.
I think the new UI is pretty terrible. I didn’t know until you mentioned it, irmadlad@lemmy.world, that there was an option to revert. I can’t find it in the settings - how does one revert to the prior UI?

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•How do you like to transfer large files between friends across the internet?English
3·2 years agoI used vaultwarden just the other day for this purpose. I mean, I use vaultwarden daily as a password manager, but it also has secure file transfer.

homeassistant@lemmy.world•Wake word vanished?English
1·2 years agoThanks. I had indeed found those same results. All are old (i.e., using an older version of ESPHome) and only a couple report the same problem as me, none of which have a solution.
I’ll keep looking. In the past, similar ESPHome problems “fixed themselves” once another ESPHome update was released (or sometimes 2 or 3 updates later).

homeassistant@lemmy.world•Wake word vanished?English
2·2 years agoThanks for the suggestion, https://lemmy-tesseract.thewooskeys.com/u/GreyEyedGhost@lemmy.ca, but I’m not able to find anything recent about this issue. I found a couple mentioned of this issue and of similar-ish issue from 6 months and a year ago but they’re using way older versions of ESPHome and so their solutions don’t work for me.
If you can share any of the links you found, I’d appreciate it.

5·2 years agoI highly recommend OPNsense over pfSense for the UI improvements alone, but there are other reasons to use/support OPNsense over pfSense.
Can you list or summarize some of the other reasons?

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•How to change qBittorrent admin password in docker-container? [help] [solved]English
7·2 years agoWhen I install qbittorrent via docker, I see this in the docker logs:
qbittorrent-1 | 2024-11-04T15:25:25.201955254Z The WebUI administrator username is: admin qbittorrent-1 | 2024-11-04T15:25:25.201974066Z The WebUI administrator password was not set. A temporary password is provided for this session: H7ct3xPesThat’s the default admin credentials for the instance. I can then change the login or pw in the UI.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Simple Minimal Backup SolutionEnglish
1·2 years agoThanks for sharing about Backrest. I use Restic and Backrest looks like a great addition to it.
Thanks for the help, @Blip6338@lemmy.ca
I installed that config and still no dice. In fact, with those configs the Echo is in a worse state than with my previous configs:
Maybe I installed those configs wrong? I just copied them into the ESPHome Building editor window for the Echo and clicked install.
