  • Hey man, I live here. We’re not a republican state. We have more registered Democrats than Republicans, and between the two major metropolitan centers (Charlotte and The Triangle) we actually should be voting largely Democrat. However Republicans bunched all those voters into a few districts and then gave rural bumfuck nowhere disproportionate representation on a state level. Then they used that to gerrymander themselves into a supermajority, then used that to start rat fucking the good reps out of districts (pour one out for Jeff Jackson). We literally had maps so fucked up our current supreme court said “that’s too far” and all they did was submit shittier and shittier maps until we got stuck with the first unconstitutional one because “we didn’t have another option”

We’re not quite a Mississippi where we’ve been shooting our own feet for decades, Republicans have wrested undue control over the state by being cheaters and it’s important for all of you to see that because they’ll do it to you too

  • My favorite part about 5e centaurs is that the monsters are large sized which makes all their mounting rules function the way you’d expect. However they generally try to avoid having PCs get to a point where they’re large by default. So PC centaurs are medium creatures with an increased carrying capacity meaning they can ride horses by default and function for all the rules of intelligent mounts. As long as you fit in the weight limits you can just keep stacking centaurs on top of each other in the same 5ft square, RAW

And like many fields dominated by white men, they make it harder for non-white non-men to get in. I went to an engineering university (for math) and lived with my white male engineer friends. I watched one of them get into our very competitive grad school despite having bad grades, a late application, and no experience because all of his white professors liked that he wasn’t an Asian exchange student

I know anecdotes aren’t reality, but even on super liberal college campuses there’s still some pockets of right wing people
