Had to scroll too far for Stratum! The watch app is also why I use it so that I can keep my phone far away from me while I work. Game changer. Surprised more don’t use it.

By your logic the *arr suite isn’t self hosted either since they rely on metadata cache servers.

In fact Jellyfin relies on external services for their metadata too!

Streaming is unfortunately a pretty weak hole in my Degoogling adventure. There’s really no perfect solution.

CCwGTV … what I have. But it’s no longer supported, pretty slow. Launcher is bloaty af by default but I use a custom one. And of course… it’s Google. I can side load for now but that’s going away soon so I need an alternative.

Shield. I also have one but take all the above issues and add that it’s a bit faster.

Apple TV. No side loading. Jellyfin support is janky still. Fastest and most elegant though.

Fire TV. Fuck Amazon.
