America won’t course-correct until it is forced to do so.
The political establishment is so totally insulated in a media bubble that there’s no way to reach them, internal pressures can be safely ignored. Only external pressure can change this country now.

Same as it ever was

Kirk’s shooter had some shell casings with what was originally a furry meme etched onto them, but that phrase had been co-opted by groypers and transvestigators and is more likely to be evidence that the shooter did it for the lulz than that they were furry.
The furry community is very tight-knit, if it was one of us then we’d have figured out who the shooter was before the cops did. The only connection here is that Republicans have been trying to make the existence of furries into another front in their culture war.

Same as it ever was.

That would have been my bet.
Then go back to Reddit.
Point to a decentralized country.

I’m afraid I don’t see the connection between the assertion that progressivism requires conformity of thought and speech and the fall of the soviet union / the establishment of the neoliberal order.
It seems to me that, under that regime, there was actually very little pressure for progressives to conform to a single ideal, which resulted in the protests you’ve mentioned being peopled by groups that spanned the ideological gamut from liberal progressives to left-anarchists to literal communists.
And I don’t think that has changed now that neoliberalism is collapsing, the recent protests are still peopled by communists, anarchists, worker’s unions, independents, democrats and even the occasional disaffected republican. The umbrella that covers the term “Progressive” is only unified in their support for basic human rights and their desire for a more just and equitable society. There’s plenty of disagreement within that coalition and no mechanism to enforce conformity to any one way of being progressive.
Where, precisely, are you seeing the conformity you claim exists?

Cloth wicks can be unreliable and risk splashing fuel around, whereas storm matches are easy to light, wind-resistant, and burn plenty long enough on their own.

If a court didn’t order it then it isn’t a deportation.

Because the real assassin didn’t want the attention, and real heroes tend to have mysteriously short lifespans.
Letting a fall guy enjoy the fame and either prison time or exoneration gives our real hero a lot of headstart on disappearing and becoming someone else.

They don’t have as much power as worker’s unions structurally but they do perform many of the same functions, yes

“Sounds like someone has a pretty small filter bubble if they’ve only seen dozens.”, probably.

I went to three protests that day, only one of them had any official party representation and it was a local politician who had a speech to give. Nothing that might actually spur people towards action.

I’m talking about the 50501 on the steps of the Colorado statehouse on May 1st. The Democrats were not represented, but there were half a dozen socialist/communist parties with booths set up and about the same number of unions.

I don’t see you pointing anything out that might refute it. The DNC is still operating in Business-As-Usual mode.

Freelancers’ Unions are a thing too.
That’s the smart move, especially if they have somewhere that they can lie low 'til the dust settles and the heat wears off.
