  • Then after retirement and benefits it’s anywhere from 20% to 50%. I’m at about 25% just with tax, 36% with benefits and retirement.

Depending on if your deductions are calculated correctly (you have to negotiate that with your job) you might end up getting a refund layer or have to pay, so in reality my rate is more like 30% overall. People with more expensive insurance or less tax credits and or other things on top of that are going to have it worse off.

I make half what I would need to be able to afford buying a home in my area and be able to make mortgage payments and still have money left

According to usnews.com (maybe not the most reputable source but),

64% of the voting-eligible population in the U.S. voted in the 2024 election.

Of those, who voted, 49.8% voted trump and 48.3% voted kamala.

That means 31.8% of eligible voters voted for trump, 30.912% voted for kamala, 0.012% voted other, and 36% didnt vote at all. That makes it 62-63% 68% of eligible voters didnt vote against him.

    Which isnt much better

  • Weird, I was just looking at how to recall senators and Minnesota requires:

    • $100 + 25 resident signatures
    • file a petition: “The grounds must be one of the following: malfeasance, nonfeasance, or serious crime”
    • State Supreme Court decides if its worth hearing, then set up a court date
    • hearing to decide if grounds for recall are valid
    • get 25% of the number of votes cast in the last general election within 90 days
