No, it’s because they don’t care.

No, it’s because they don’t care.

Not to mention the Texas Rangers don’t have jurisdiction anywhere outside of Texas. They’d be essentially coming in and acting as vigilantes. No other states should be ok with that kind of usurping of power on their soil or it’s a really fucking slippery slope.

Ok but surely they know the difference between price go up and price go down? It’s astounding people will probably believe this.

Yeah, but also for most things requiring proof of citizenship in the US, people generally use their birth certificate or a document, like a passport or real ID, that was originally obtained with a birth certificate. If birthright citizenship is no longer a thing, how would you even provide documentation for your parents’ citizenship if they aren’t naturalized citizens? Can’t rely on their birth certificates because that no longer matters and now I have to prove my grandparents were/are citizens to prove my parents are citizens and on and on. It doesn’t even make sense.

Don’t worry, surely any of those negative repercussions will be neatly contained within their city limits.

44% is wild.

Eeeeh. I can’t be the only one who won’t touch something described as “pro-America” with a ten foot pole.

Yup, that’s immediately where my mind went.
Usually only the insert (swastika in this case) is pre-baked. You put the insert in place and then pour in the batter around it, which holds the insert it place and bakes up into one cohesive cake.
Idk why someone would make this but I think it’s real. You can see very faint vertical breaks in all the joints of the swastika, in all the places where you’d have to cut the brown cake to make it into that shape.

ASL is not English, though. It has its own grammar structure and words (obviously) so it is functionally a different language than written English. People who speak ASL as a first language are essentially learning a second language with written English, one that is based on spoken language they can’t hear. As a result, many in the Deaf community struggle to read and write. Add to that the stress of it being an emergency and having to process the text in real-time before it disappears? I just don’t see captions being the answer for this already vulnerable community, especially in life-or-death situations.

So fucking tired of these clowns.

I mean, the fact that those people would then have to live there kind of insulates the politicians from those consequences. It’s not so simple to move your entire life, but to do so in order to live somewhere you don’t actually want to, so you can be one small drop in the bucket toward maybe voting one of these jerks out 2 years from now? Ridiculous, quite frankly, and not something enough people would ever be willing to do (rightfully so) to turn the tides.

Tony Hawk

My mom and dad are gonna be so mad at me 😭

A lot of these people are so old they aren’t even boomers… Lol. The oldest boomers are still in their late 70s.

I’ve never had a big fight with insurance, so maybe I’m wrong, but I took that line as to be referring to their co-pay. Insurance companies generally only cover a portion of the bill, maybe 70-80% if your plan is decent. So, your $30k hospital could still cost you like $6k+ after insurance.
If you have a high deductible plan on the other hand, you have to pay everything out of pocket until you hit your annual deductible amount (my friend’s plan’s deductible was $10k!!) before they will cover 70-80% on whatever is leftover. So maybe you’re left with a $14k bill in the above scenario instead.
Lol our system is so fucked.

I live in Texas and when my partner changed addresses for his voter registration, it took like 2 fucking months. It was wild. He was just about to send a new one in when we got the confirmation card in the mail finally.
I early voted yesterday and the poll worker nearly clicked that I did not have a sufficient photo ID because I was using my passport. Thankfully another poll worker intercepted right before she did because who knows what the fuck happens in the system when that button is pressed even once for you. 12-hr waiting period so I have “sufficient time” to retrieve my “proper” id? Getting on some purge list going forward for “suspicious voter activity”? I wouldn’t put anything past them… And, of course, I was only using my passport because I thought they might hassle me for my license address not matching my registration. They instead got hung up on the fact that my passport doesn’t have an address… Welcome to the South!

Yeah, this system makes no sense. How are they supposed to fact check each other?
“That’s a lie.” “Not uh.”
Womp womp. My partner and I are in the process of a cross country move (out of Texas! Woo hoo!) and we’re supposed to fly back next week to finally pack up our stuff and get the house ready to rent out. It’s been sitting on the market for 5 months and hemorrhaging money now that we’re gone, so we’re finally throwing in the towel and accepting that we’re going to have a long-term financial tie to Texas.
