I’m way overdue for this question, but can someone explain to me what “GOP” is? I’m not interested in US politics too much (I don’t live anywhere close) but of course lots of US politics news reaches me regardless. I know the two parties, but “GOP” is mentioned from time to time and I have no clue what it is, other than that it has something to do with the Republican party.

Here is a rewording if that helps: You could jump off of a station station without worrying about orbital velocity if it wasn’t orbiting. To have a space station that doesn’t orbit, it would have to be a space station with engines, so that it can cancel that velocity. For an example of a station station that has engines, you can look at the Death Star.

Yes it orbits in the movies, that doesn’t conflict with anything I said. I’m describing a scenario where it doesn’t (which doesn’t happen in the movies).

A space station with the ability to achieve orbital speeds on it’s own power means it can also negate orbital speeds, before you jump off. And presumably regain them afterwards, if it doesn’t want to also plummet down to the planet.

Unless the space station is not orbiting. Maybe it’s a mobile one like the Desthstar.

No, the US isn’t a democracy either

It has nothing to do with what children see, the reasoning is that advertisers don’t want their products to be associated with violence by showing their ad next to a post about violence.

My point is that a concert only exists due to concert goers paying for it, supporting it, and coming to it. It doesn’t seem unreasonable to me that the total environmental impact of the concert can then by divided by all the people who attended it, including everyone carrying their small share of responsibility that the singer travelled to sing for them.

I absolutely agree it’s mainly her responsibility for the choice of the mode of transport, but I do think everyone who buys a ticket is “complicit”, as everyone knows that’s how she does it and are still happy to support it. And I don’t blame any individual person, because for any individual person the share of responsibility is very small.

Isn’t the pollution from millions of people travelling to her concerts bigger than from the single plane? Who is responsible for that?

If she is, then that’s the bigger issue than the plane. If the concert goers are, then they also share responsibility for the plane’s pollution.

Wouldn’t they be more creepy if she wasn’t his daughter? All else being equal, it’s definitely more normal for a dad to get a kiss on the cheek from his daughter, than from an unrelated little girl.

I mean, wouldn’t the game not happening be such a big deal that even people who aren’t normally interested would tune in just to see all the drama? I never watched it, but if such a protest happened I would likely be interested to see that.
