I just assumed it was Pete Hegseth after a bender going “Swastikas for all!!!” And some poor intern figuring out how to make his boss not fire him.

From an ethical perspective this is obviously reprehensible. As a Chicago resident I could rant for hours about how destructive these are to peace and prosperity.
Looking at this from a pure strategy standpoint. I don’t understand the strategy of infuriating a swing state here.
These ICE raids are incredibly unpopular to put it mildly for every city that has them. Like no one loves feeling like you’re getting abducted by people in unmarked cars without due process. It’s one thing to put these in blue states where it’s “out of sight out of mind” for callous MAGA fucks. It’s another to do it in the home turf where this dominates news cycles.
Even when they’re evil they’re stupid about it.
Why do I feel like something is ultimately wrong here?
I know one theory is that Mike Johnson was hoping that the bill would get tied up and die in the Senate and that backfired spectacularly, but this still just feels off.

I mean they left worse traces in the video edit. Like these aren’t the best and brightest working on this.
Some of it may just be due to circumstances too. They were working nights and weekends tracking in an excel spreadsheet that was accidentally available to other agents.
So yeah like this wasn’t done slowly and methodically.
The good news is that this admin is really bad at redactions.

It may seem petty to use this incident, but it does illustrate Harris’s expectation that the world should conform to her needs. Towels on the far side of the room? Someone else must fetch them. A slot as the Democrat presidential candidate that party leaders conveniently made sure would be uncontested by anyone else, a massively well-funded campaign that raked in over a billion dollars and the support of celebrities like Oprah and Beyoncé, a popular vice presidential candidate, a huge boost in the polls as soon as she stepped into the campaign… and, yet, somehow, her loss is still anyone’s fault but her own. Why are my towels on the other side of the room? Who will fetch them for me?
It really did feel that way in hindsight. That we all were just supposed to conform to her and not the other way around.
I remember Hacks on Tap talking about how their contacts were frustrated that Harris wasn’t out doing more national television interviews and that she wasn’t really putting herself out there. This feels like another example of the towel in the bathroom.
