62·1 year agoCis people should be scared about this too. Things like supplementing estrogen (for woman after they have gone through menopause) or testosterone is a quite normal thing. Im betting my ass, that this regulations will affect these things too.

That do be true tho.
I would say that not necessarily every racist is a Nazi, but definitely ever Nazi is a racist.
Since I know that I will probably get a lot of comments arguing why every racist is a Nazi, here’s my thoughts about this:
A lot of racism gets burned into peoples brains from quite a lot of actors. This causes people to often subconsciously be racist without them realising. An example would be people who are getting afraid simply when seeing a group of foreign people at night in the streets. They have the expectation, that they will get robbed because they set criminals and foreign people the same. These people often say, that they dont really mind all foreign people as long as they are well integrated.
A Nazi on the other hand usually doesn’t care if someone is well integrated. He doesn’t care if he was born here, if he speaks the country’s langauge, if he has the same ideology as himself. He sees someone that looks different, speaks different etc and the only thing he wants to do is deport him, kill him etc. The Nazis main concern isn’t the reduction of crime, but the complete erasure of everything he labels as “foreign” or “not naturally occuring” in his country.
Its much harder to enshittify a market when you dont have a monopoly, so it does improve the situation. But yeah, longterm we definitely have to act against those too.
I agree, but those who own like 2 or so houses are literally not the main problem. We can work on abolishing them at a later point, but until then we can ignore them.

82·1 year agoIts always important to differentiate between the individual policeman and the institution of the police, when criticising. It is absolutely necessary that people step up for the safety of everyone and protect them (which is what the police is supposed to do/does). The problem is, that since the police has the monopoly to excerpt violence and this monopoly is controlled by the state it is a tool for those in power to preserve their power and demolish resistance.
This is alsobwhy I dont really like slogans like ACAB, since it sets the policeman who probably has very good intentions and does great work on the same level of “ceiticising” something" than the flaws that police sadly has.

politics @lemmy.world•Elon Musk is responsible for “killing the world’s poorest children,” says Bill Gates
8·1 year agoWell yes, but no. If you see capitalism, which includes billionaires having a right to exist, as a set standard, I would 100% agree with you. But billionaires shouldn’t even exist in the first place. You only become a billionaire, by either massively exploiting your workerforce, capitalising every single aspect of your product/customer and not redirecting your profits back to society. We shouldn’t live in a world, where we are cheering for people giving away their money, that they shouldn’t own in the first place. There is no ethic way to be a billionaire.
To prevent misunderstandings: I 100% agree, that this is actually a good thing, but we still have to raise awareness about the societal and political problems of billionaires existing in the first place.

politics @lemmy.world•JD Vance finally admits what Trump’s big plan to lower food prices is | The plan is no plan.
181·2 years agoThere are only 3 ways to lower(that came to my mind) prices in a quick way.
1: Abandon regulations. If corporations don’t have to invest into safety, ecology and such stuff they have lower production costs which can mean lower prices.
2: More competition. If corporations have to compete with each other they usually start a battle over who gets the best quality for the lowest price.
3: Subsidies. Nothing to say here I guess.
Edit: Point one and three lower production costs. As others have already pointed out, these dont mean lower prices, but more profit for companys
The people saying this stuff have no idea what the fuck they are talking about. Someone who has no background in faming is just useful to some degree. He can do the stuff that’s easy as hell and where you don’t have the potential to fuck up really badly or where you don’t have to think that much. The biggest problem is, that this is just a fraction of the actual work. Depending on the type of farm and the location theres a lot of work they can’t do. Doing stuff on the fields with a tractor? Depending on what they are doing this is nothing that someone who doesn’t even has a proper driving license/knowledge can do. All things that require good accuracy are not doable for someone without a certain skill set because, surprisingly, its quite hard to seed, when the machine is wider than the tractor. The bigger the machine gets the harder it is if you font want to waste a lot of time because you either miss half of the field or always drive with 1m overlap.
Next thing is training. No one wants to constantly retrain the entire workforce every year. This just takes valuable time that could be used otherwise.
Next is safety. You can’t let someone with no good knowledge/experience do a lot of the stuff alone, since it isn’t that cool if they are regularly encountering accidents because they are fucking stupid. Theres a reason why it regularly happens that people encounter horrible Accidents in the farming sector and flooding the sector with untrained personnel won’t help.
Also, I kinda doubt that there is even enough work to do for this kind of u trained workers. There have been labour shortages in certain factors, so the farmers adapted by filling the gaps with technology to make farming more efficient.
Also, you need people that are able, and allowed to, drive tractors and other heavy machineries. Being good at driving these big machines takes a lot of time and you devinetively dont want to lose multiple grands because some idiot isn’t able to drive properly and crashed into something. The next thing is speed. Being comfortable enough to do certain things with an acceptable speed, again, takes time.

Great that we in Europe also like to piss on the rights of trans people. Just take a look at terf island or Hungary. If I remember right Poland also introduced some shit regulations on trans people, but dont count me on that.
And no I dont want to say, that the situation across Europe is the same as in the USA, but we better be careful, that the same shit doesn’t happen here too.
