I don’t think that’s right. The average voter wants the minimum wage raised by quite a bit. Capital voters paint nightmare pictures no matter how small the increase is.

I don’t know about NYC, but the Federal Wage has been stagnated so long, that 12.5% annualized increase seems like the BARE MINIMUM workers deserve.

I’m in Arkansas, so 30$/hr is probably a little “too much” here, but I believe in a the minimum wage should be a living wage at 40hr/wk.

I think co-ops are the way to go, but I can understand that someone “just” wanting to purchase the good/service might not see the difference between a co-op and corporation like Amazon.

I don’t think it’s a size issue really, but co-ops generally stay smaller in part due to how they are internally organized compared to a “median” corporation.

I also think that the government actually does a pretty good job at managing things; it’s just their failures are public. Private boondoggles might drive many people into bankruptcy, but they aren’t publicized any more than absolutely necessary.

I think voting for a D in the general is generally a good harm reduction strategy. That said, I’m a big fan of the Working Families Party, tho they aren’t active where I’m at. They seem to be “more practical” at gaining political power, while still fairly well-aligned with the DSA about how it should be used.

I, too, started looking for something “left” of the DNC in 2016; I was a fan of Bernie [and other progressives].

That’s not a requirement, it’s more a tradition because the “electoral math” is better.

The the office holder is where the power resides and where the decision is made – they aren’t a figurehead after the swearing-in, no matter what their role was in the campaign.

But, sure, depending on their background how “good” their head is, they certainly don’t have to previously have been a chief executive to make a good president.

I’m mostly unaware of Jon Stewart’s roles other than being on-camera / eye-candy, except for possibly some non-scripted interview questions (with him on either side). But, from the entertainment world, I think a directing experience probably does exist in the same “space” as chief executive.
