My personal theory is that there is just so many people and so much land that one person can care about and that area is about the size and population of the average US state or European country. Once you get to the size of the US or China or Russia or even India it’s too big for people to care. Very few people in NYC give a shit about what is happening in LA on a day to day basis.

Bernie’s problem was that he wasn’t a democrat. I voted for him but I know a lot of people, like my parents, who are center-left who simply refused to vote for somebody who didn’t caucus with democrats. These are the same people who are already looking at people like Newsom.

Edit for clarification: I understand that the Bernie is considered to caucus with the democrats because he generally votes with them. However, those who used the term disparagingly as I referenced above don’t believe independents can caucus with any party and used that as an excuse to refer to him as a DINO and not caucusing or being required to caucus.

I mean… what are we supposed to do? I only live half way to the other coast and it’s still a 22 1/2 hour drive. That’s assuming I could afford the gas and time off work.

The White House is owned by the Federal Government. Theoretically that means it’s owned by the taxpayers, in practice you would be charged with trespassing on government property if you weren’t specifically allowed on the grounds (if not just straight up terrorism or whatever other charges they feel like throwing at you).

There is a dealership local to me that pays their sales staff annual salaries with benefits rather than working on commission. It’s the only place anybody in my family will buy a car now.
