“I’m sure this is Constitutional,” said no one ever.
It sure sounds a lot like something the president would say! Or, it would be something he’d mindlessly repeat to the cameras after Miller or whoever wormtongue’d it into his ear beforehand.

I’m afraid that if we see them invoke the 25th it will be because Trump finally has SO much baggage that they can blame damn near everything on him and quietly continue along the project 2025 trajectory with the likes of Vance and Johnson playing choir boys.

That reads almost like the gay narcissist’s prayer.
So kinda perfect for horrible closeted republican homophobes in general, and for mr president in particular.

I might be wrong here, but judging by a clip I saw yesterday there wasn’t an actual vote. Schumer stood up and said something like “I think we should just unanimously pass it through” and then somebody else asked if there were any objections. There were none so then it passed or something.

It’s already been pointed out how wrong and gross this is.
But for the sake of discussion let’s give her the biggest possible benefit of the doubt.
So then the president of the united states was ONLY a human sex slave trafficker. Super.
unfortunately I think her handlers know that simply planting a seed of doubt will work on many in their audience.

Are professionally bred domesticated pet animals not a perk of being a part of society?
As long as it’s all offline or receive-only, should she also get any TV channels or blu-ray movies or game consoles she’s willing to pay for?
I’m not here to advocate for cruelty or dehumanizing people who have committed crimes. Just wondering about the thought process.
I bet for most people who aren’t “internationally infamous monster” level criminals, having a pet to care for could be a valuable part of rehabilitation. Maybe they could even take the pet with them after release to give them incentive to get up and go to work to support it.
In this case though, it’s all annoying because we have a very very bad person getting outrageously special treatment for the shadiest of reasons.

The grift is more consistent and predictable than the laws of thermodynamics!

Oh man, could you imagine if THAT was how Trump ran for another term?
Democrats: Surely our fellow americans wouldn’t repeat-repeat-repeat vote for him! We can compromise to pass the “We Can Keep The Best Presidents As Long As We Want And It Is Temporarily Legal To Drink Water Without Asking Nestle” bill!

Unfortunately, the rinse crew has been dissolved as a cost cutting measure.

Well now I absolutely expect to read a future story about somebody working their way into ICE to do some good. But then before they knew it they were hauled out into the desert and told by masked men to execute a Mexican detainee like some kind of fucked up gang initiation ritual, to prove their true loyalty.

Look you guys! I found the time cop!
This very special hour of the year has revealed you.

Yeah that sounds about like the line of reasoning I’d expect from conservatives in my family. The problem is that you gave them something at all. They made you a sucker. Stop helping people. etc.
They’d just terminate the thought there, and not move on to wonder if it could it be some other problem the system could help them with other than today’s cart of groceries. My goodness, they might accidentally save a life and not even know it!

I LEARNED IT FROM YOU, DAD!
YES!
It is not always easy to judge how much an activity will benefit you going by how much you want to do it beforehand. It is not always as simple as exercising and eating your vegetables either. Shit’s complex.
I describe it like each of our brains has a long, detailed, and customized user manual – but we don’t get a copy. We can choose to attempt to reverse engineer that manual if we have the right motivation.
This reminds me of something I was commenting about yesterday.
Focus on your immediate environment first, and make your little corner of the world better before you worry about saving the universe.
And like you said, it is a habit and mindset thing. If you plant a tree in your yard or in your community, no it will not save the rain forest, but your mental health and physical health and living conditions will all be slightly better off than they were before it.
If you start intentionally working in these positive actions that provide tiny incremental improvements, before you know it you may be feeling more than incrementally better.

If you wanted to blow a bunch of money on the military there are better ways to do it.
Ohh we got you fam.

I have been in the mental state of “I guess if I’m living through significant history that people will read about decades from now, I should at least pay attention and appreciate the weight of it, in addition to trying to actually help people” for about two orders of magnitude longer than the duration our brains evolved to handle.
It would be really, really swell if that could stop for a while and not constantly grind in a worse and worse direction.

the Presidential Succession Act (3 U.S.C. §19), which prohibits anyone ineligible to serve as president from assuming the office
“No it doesn’t. Your statement is now literally incorrect.”

They have a plan?
Holy shit you guys, these ghouls aren’t lizard people! They are god damned cylons!
I’m pretty sure the leopards won’t eat the faces of the DOGE employees. Musk said so on his personal website!
