I feel like those people are never going to vote though. The communists and socialists will be too busy going on about bourgeoisie this and that and won’t be satisfied unless Marx himself is running because no one else is good enough. And the anarchists will go going “why should I take this opportunity to fight fascists if I’m not getting my perfect anarchist utopia out of it? Don’t vote, it’ll go against your perfect idealism.” Just like they did this last time around.

I think that Bernie Sanders showed us that people who don’t have ideological sticks up their asses will be willing to vote for something better that gets us all a little bit closer to utopia, even if it’s not perfect yet. And as a non-American, I think AOC has that same infectious energy. But of course, as a non-American, I might also be underestimating how much Americans hate women and brown people.

Take time to be a better person. Doing that fights them just as well as all the other stuff.

That is a great way of reframing it. And honestly it is a big help right now with the way I’ve been thinking lately. So thank you for taking the time to post this, seriously. I’ve got some thoughts that need rearranging now.

I’m in a similar space right now. Tired of being angry. Tired of feeling bad about things I said earlier when the people who it was said to will never feel bad about a thing in their lives. In a perfect world I would spend my days online looking at cat pictures, not despairing while these clowns dismantle women’s rights, trans rights, gay rights, religious freedom, environmental protections, workers rights etc. and their idiot legion thinking it’s all just wonderful.

It’s a catch 22 for me because I cannot and will not keep quiet. I’ve spent my life fighting these fucking people and I’m not about to stop now that the fight is more important than ever. Even if it most likely won’t amount to anything, considering that 50% of the world’s population seems to have been replaced by pod people over the last decade.

So I dunno. I’m personally at odds with being at a point in my life where I’d like to calm down and focus on arts and good conversation and being a better person; while the state of the world calls for people with spines more than ever.

They’ll make statements like this and then complain about people assuming that they’re racist bigots. Because I’m pretty sure they’re not talking about the '90s when Mandela was still in charge and there was hope and joy in the air in South Africa.

The well run ‘South Africa’ that they long for so much was the South Africa where the previous government only bothered doing their jobs for about 3% of the country before patting themselves on the back for a job well done. And they’re comparing that to a government that isn’t perfect but that also took on a lot more work and responsibility, and hasn’t just drawn lines on a map and labelled huge sections of the country as “homelands” that they don’t need to bother with.

I sincerely hope that when these people are flying over, there’s some big mishap with aviation caused by Musk and they end up at the bottom of the sea.

Of course they are. They were already halfway there by spending their free time listening to assholes talk and preach on podcasts. And I’m sure it goes nicely with all of the bigoted, misogynistic content that they consume.

And joined the people who made ‘wokeness’ an issue to divide everyone with in the first place because they’re worried about it dividing people.

Just came past another headline saying that in a crushing blow for American conservatives, Missouri just banned child marriage.

Did Trump actually have any concrete plans for the economy or did he just look “unbeatable” because he said “I’ll make eggs cheap and great again! Very bigly!” jerks off two dicks

I mean, I guess that’s an unbeatable platform if you’re a nation of illiterate bigots that swap reason for blind fanaticism.

Yup. Trump and co haven’t been sneaky and deceptive. They’ve been loud and clear this whole time. These voters weren’t tricked. They voted for their trans neighbours to be dehumanized and made to suffer. They voted for their wives and mothers and daughters to be controlled and owned. They voted for their workforce to be plucked off the street by masked government grunts and shipped to a maximum security prison in another country for life. Personally, I would never be able to look this fucking scum in the eyes again without my hatred of them being visible.

In some ways I get it because it’s better to be fighting on the frontlines than preaching to the choir ie. people that already agree with you. But it’s also a waste of time right now because le algorithm will just deprioritize your posts or you’ll get shadow banned because it turns out that the ‘free speech’ crowd that wants to freely insult anyone without consequences also have the thinnest skins around and are the biggest pearl clutchers whenever the tables are turned.

I think that says more about his cult than him. I know that I’m not sitting here thinking “oh poor people, if only they could break free from Trump’s stunning charisma and dashing good looks.” I’m actually sitting here thinking that there’s a lot more ignorant, illiterate, inbred, hateful fucking morons on this planet than I previously thought. And even if they all suddenly turn into Democrats, my impression of them as ignorant, illiterate, inbred, hateful fucking morons is never going to change again.

They’re hanging out with the free speech people, watching university students get deported for speaking freely and laughing at it.

I think that you guys need to get over your fear of introducing another political party, so that the Democrats can be made to fear the consequences of being a bunch of animated fucking corpses that are too busy maintaining the status quo to listen to their voters or show any signs of actual life.

Let me guess, by “freedom of expression” you mean allowing people to be openly racist, homophobic, transphobic and misogynistic completely free of any social consequences for their actions. While gay people, trans people and anyone else that doesn’t conform to white christian culture get vilified, victimized and their rights stripped away. What you mean is that you would really like to be able to say the n word on the internet without the mean moderator banning you but you don’t really care about freedom of expression in the real world, or things like all of the media being bought up and controlled by a handful of fascist billionaires.

I’m just asking because usually when people make free speech and freedom of expression their personalities, they’re solely in it because they want to be able to insult and degrade groups of people without consequences and don’t really care about anything else.
