Very well said. I hated Harris’ “economic plan.” It wasn’t going to make a dent. It might get some people in rural passover states afford a home, which is great for them, but would do nothing but maybe raise costs of entry level tiny condos in any city.
But I do think they accomplished a lot in Biden’s term. If you compare the US’ inflation to other 1st world countries, we recovered far better. We were moving in the right direction. It would have been far worse with Republicans.
And they accomplished all that with a festering rot of DINO obstructionists in the senate, and a republican controlled House. They did an amazing job with the limitations they had.
But they didn’t adequately lay the blame in the right hands. They didn’t address greedy corporate Housing speculation. They tried and failed to reign in “shrinkflation”. And they failed to bring some sanity to the immigrant blaming, and instead somewhat joined in on it.
Yep. And as much as I’d like to blame 3rd party voters, even if they all voted Harris to giver her the majority, she’d have still lost due to electoral college.

They’ll say Isreal would have done the same under Harris as they completely repell or slaughter the remaining Palestinians out of the west bank and move on to Lebenon.
They’ll shrug as hundreds of thousands of immigrants, illegal or otherwise, and rounded up and thrown in camps or shipped over the border with no recourse besides an intentionally ineffective appeals process if they actually happened to be here legally.

How, exactly? They own the courts, and have the presidency, senate, and likely the house. How exactly do we fight back? America gave them the authority to do anything they want that doesn’t require a super majority.
Except local refusal to enforce doesn’t really work with gay marriage. If feds refuse to accept gay marriage, they won’t be able to file jointly on federal taxes, and the protections to Rights for spouses like medical visitation / decisions would have to be repeated locally, which could (would) get challenged and ultimately overruled by SCOTUS

For me, it was the days and weeks after Jan 6th, when it became clear that outright insurrection, a violent coup, was not going to spark a course correct.
The republican party should have shattered. The non-fascists should have woken up, and fought with MAGA, and years later, a viable political party rise from the ashes.
But that didn’t happen. A few conscientious dissenters fell on their swords, most at retirement age anyway. Fascism took over completely. And the American people ate it up.
Weeks after Jan 6th, it was clear that consequences were not coming. They took their mask off, and no one cared, or couldn’t stop them.
And here we are. Convicted felon with absolute power on his way to the Whitehouse, who owns the SCOTUS, Senate, and likely the House.
