They can’t win unless they cheat.

The Art of the Thing That Sort of Vaguely Looks Like a Deal Unless You Look Closer.

You mean Alligator Auschwitz.

Exactly.
Trump knows that all he has to do is tell his mindless drones something, and then they’ll figure out the necessary details and evasions and lies with which they’ll determinedly pretend it’s true.

I’m assuming that the original plan was to excise all mentions of Trump (and possibly of his most loyal cronies), then at least threaten to release everything left (I’m not convinced that Trump really would release it, since it would be more in his nature to hold the threat of releasing it over people’s heads in order to extort submission and/or cash out of them).
But then it fell through, most likely because among the data that Musk stole during his tenure was the originals of everything they intended to release, so his threat to expose Trump is credible enough that Trump decided the better course of action was to tell the faithful that none of it ever existed in the first place in order to head off Musk.

Oh absolutely. Minorities will disproportionately suffer and die, but nothing close to exclusively.
More broadly, disadvantaged people will suffer and die. Minorities are already overrepresented among the disadvantaged and under the overtly bigoted policies of the Trump regime, they will be even more overrepresented, but that’s just something of a bonus to the would-br oligarchs. They’re excited at the prospect of culling poor people, pretty much regardless of the details.

But not clearly defining DEI is key.
The actual goal is to effectively not only legalize but actively encourage discrimination, and that’s done specifically by not clearly defining DEI so companies will tend to generally avoid hiring monorities at all, for fear that they’ll be punished by the Trump regime.

Turns out that like so many other things, all of the noise about “replacement theory” was just conservative projection. They claimed that there was some sort of determined effort to eliminate whites because they were right in the middle of a determined effort to eliminate non-whites (and non-cis, non-het, non-christian, etc.) and as they do, they assumed/pretended that everyone else is as evil as they are.
This is the way it’s going to work, by design:
No wonder the Republicans are giddy.

Not to necessarily shift blame away from that scumbag sex abuser Cuomo , but I’m betting that the Democratic party leaders are behind this.

The Toddler-in-chief throwing a tantrum because he got caught in a lie.
That’s just so 2025.

Pronoun trouble…

Oh no - of course not. They want late 19th century levels of robber baron wealth built on worker oppression, sickness, ignorance and death.

Valid point well made - thanks for that.
I’ll be folding that into future screeds. ;)

Of course.
Conservatism is nothing but lies.
It starts with the foundational lie that the world was a better place in the past, then immediately segues to the grotequely destructive lie that if only they were given power, they could and wuold return the world to that fictional better era.
That immediately crashes into the simple fact that all of their actions actually serve to make the world worse. Every single thing they do brings more suffering to more people.
But that’s okay - they’re already lying, so they just lie more. And more and more and more.
And that’s where the US is right now.

Just from the context, let me guess - he opposes zionist oppression and murder and theft of Palestinian land, right?
And (looking him up)… yep. There it is.
So why the random potshot implying Mamdani is struggling to win over Jewish New Yorkers? On what basis does the Times make this claim? The reality is that Mamdani has alienated pro-Israel adovacy groups and pro-Israel donors, but this sounds too ideologically motivated, so instead the Times conflates the “Jewish community” with support for the Israeli government and its myriad war crimes in Gaza over the past 20 months.
On that note, has anyone else noticed that the governments and their media mouthpieces aren’t even trying to trot out their standard “Israel has a right to defend itself” rhetoric? Even they realize that there’s no way to even pretend that that’s what Israel is doing now. All they have left is conflating opposition to Israeli actions and policies with “antisemitism,” and they just flog that one lie constantly.
I always wonder what it must feel like to be that morally bankrupt. They can’t possibly all be conscienceless monsters — what goes on in the heads of the ones that still have at least some vestige of a functioning moral center? How do they cope?
I presume it involves a lot of alcohol.

What I get from that is that Musk is no longer giving Trump’s people access to all the data the collection of which was the entire point all along.

The only way it could be theater is if all three of them are world class actors who have stayed entirely in character for years.
It’s simply far more likely that all three of them are, just ss they appear, thin-skinned, emotionally stunted manchildren, currently engaged in a schoolyard slapfight.

This is my take on it too.
I really don’t think it’s likely that they’re just posturing as a distraction - I don’t think either one of them is that subtle. But even if they are, I think they’re both so thin-skinned that even if they didn’t start out serious, they’re going to end up that way.
As well they should be.
Trump has already made it clear that his opinion of the accuracy of economic statistics depends solely on whether they reflect well or poorly on him.
So it’s pretty well guaranteed that the primary requirement of any future statistics will be that they reflect well on him, and accuracy and veracity will be somewhere further down the list.
