5·2 years agoSounds like a good idea until you consider the fact that you’d be subjecting a bunch of people already working ridiculous hours at a crappy job for below a living wage to a lot of harassment.
And that’s if you DON’T get someone deported. Which is highly unlikely, since the fast food industry is probably the second-largest employer of undocumented immigrants after agriculture…
So maybe DON’T do that.

That’s on TOP of traumatizing them, taking away their future by denying them an education and further complicating their employment prospects by giving them an arrest record.

Yes, I know. My point is that what’s already bad is gonna get much worse.
As awful as the Neoliberal status quo that the Dem leadership lost all parts of the government insisting on, the first Trump administration was just a trial run where he was often hindered by people with a modicum of scruples or those without being unprepared to the point of incompetence.
Jan 6th was the Beer hall putsch. They’re doing the night of the long knives and the Reichstag fire simultaneously while the Mango Mussolini takes the train to
RomeWashington. Additional reference to 1920s and 30s fascism.
Sure, but it’s about to go from awful to historically atrocious.
Everything that’s broken now is going to continue to be as broken or get worse, and a ton of other things are going to be broken beyond repair.
Don’t be fooled by the business as usual behavior of the Dem leadership now that they’re not trying to get elected; this is fucking catastrophic for the entirety of humanity.
Or to encourage someone to liberate the country from the upcoming fascist regime? 🤷
Tbf, I had no idea it was going to be Neoliberalism Central when I made the account 😄
Oh man, that pic goes fucking HARD! 😘👌✊
The first post-headline sentence of that article is absolutely true, just not in the way it was intended:
“Centrist” Democrats ARE revolting. Absolutely disgusting.
Change the first word to “while” and you’re right. It’s already a fascist party and the Dem leadership is still doing business as usual.

233·2 years agoI wish that was true, but unfortunately gaslighting and other forms of propaganda is much more effective than most people think.
You don’t have to be an idiot to be fooled by effective messaging and messaging doesn’t have to make sense to be effective.

13·2 years agoNo no, you’ve got it backwards: NYT is paying competent people obscene amounts of money to be as willfully obtuse as humanly possible without too many readers catching on.
See their coverage of anything to do with cops, Israel, conservative Democrats (including but not limited to the entirety of the DNC leadership), and “moderate Republicans” (actually paleoconservatives made to look less extreme by literal fascists and anarcho-capitalists taking over).
They’re not the “paper of record” because of the quality of their reporting as much as their popularity amongst the rich and powerful who decide what goes on the record.

At least once more, it seems
