This has always been the point.

It has never been about which restroom trans people use, it was always been about being able to harass and vilify trans people.

The right doesn’t want to just enforce gender binary, they want to erase anything and anyone that falls outside it.

It’s also not free. I am paying for these things. These are the things I want my tax money going towards. I’m not asking for free handouts, I’m asking for smart and workable application of my taxes for the betterment of society.

I was not. But counter-point, we have no idea idea what Taylor Swift does with her free time. For all we know she love economics and has spent the last decade devoting all her free time to the deep study thereof. The point is this is hardly outside the realm of feasibility, and there’s no reason to over-celebrate degree or downplay the real viability of autodidacticism.

Yes, and presumably anyone in the position we’re talking about is somebody who would have devoted a decade to their education in the field. Do you think I’m talking about “I do my own research” types? No, I’m talking about real actual auto-didacts.

Definitionally we aren’t talking about “your average person who has a GED,” Jesus fucking Christ.

You can absolutely self-teach math and macroecon. I’m not trying to claim that Swift has, or would, or that it is an easy thing to teach, but the idea that it is somehow outside the bounds of the auto-didact is absurd.

That’s valid, but it’s why I said he’s not just an idiot. I’m not denying he’s an idiot, I’m just saying it’s vastly more nefarious than that.

We have to stop pretending Trump is just some bumbling idiot with misguided by good intentions.

Trump isn’t trying to make workable trade deals with China.

All that Trump is trying to do is cause permanent damage to America at the behest of foreign masters.

And he is succeeding tremendously in his goals.

Stop acting like Trump is a failure, because he’s not, his goals are just antithetical to ours.

I’ll never recover, personally. The way my world-view was shattered by how many not just nameless strangers, but people I actually know and interact with, are the worst sort of hateful monsters.

What the fuck are you even talking about? You’re beyond grasping at straws if you’re comparing living life according to a concrete moral code based on nothing with the theoretical existence of the Higgs-bosom, which is absolutely not even remotely treated as sacred, and at this point I have to assume you are simply trying to waste my time, because this is fucking stupid.

Because the only way the alternative exists is if we assume the supernatural, and in lieu of evidence to support that, we are unable to do so.

It’s not better, my point is yours doesn’t exist. It is also the exact same moral subjectivism. Period. You’re just choosing a premade character instead of going into the character customizer. You are still making a choice of morality based on your preference, period.

And it’s not that I’m saying definitively with certainty that morality must be subjective, again my philosophy is that nothing is sacred. But objective morality is the claim and claims must be supported before being accepted. This is how scientific inquiry works. You make a claim, you support that claim, and you invite others to challenge your supporting evidence to see if it holds water. You don’t say my claim is true and it’s up to you to disprove it. By that rational, I would invite you to disprove my claim that god is a crab’s vagina who wants us to eat our own hair.

So it’s not that I’m unwaveringly certain in my conviction that morality is inherently subjective, it’s just that it is the default assumption until evidence to the contrary proves otherwise. So unless you have evidence to the contrary, we remain in the default understanding, but as always willing to reassess and adapt our understanding as additional knowledge is acquired.
