28·2 years agoI hate to say it but I enjoy Kill Tony and it’s one of the most popular weekly stand up podcasts currently. Tony himself is unabashedly right wing, and the show is/was funded, or produced, by Joe Rogan.
Where you going? $50 for the name brand where I’m at, $25 generic.

2·2 years agoThey still use air traffic controllers, which is a government paid job if I’m not mistaken. The government would also back them up if their private jet or heli encountered an emergency and had to land due to a failure with the aircraft. The government regulates when and how their private planes have to be inspected and ready to fly. The government provides the water that the employees that gas up and maintain the aircraft use, and the roads that get them there.
So they may believe they don’t need the government, but it’s a big part of almost everything we do everywhere.

5·2 years agoI had to fill one out over a decade ago for a government job, and they even sent letters to the people I put as references to ask if there was any reason I shouldn’t work for the government. Once I got the job that place was super locked down; if you try to (or accidentally) use your badge on a door you’re not cleared for, expect a talking to.

2·2 years agoJust found it, here’s a few other niche “older” anime:
Real Drive - one of my favorite shows that really shows how far technology could go in the future.
HeatGuy J - another sci-fi futuristic one that premiered on Toonami in 2002; the premise is similar to Blade Runner
Dennou-Coil - this one deals with augmented reality, and it is what I think we’re getting closer to the more companies invest in AR. It’s also well animated and family friendly.
The Big O - another one that premiered on Toonami 20 or so years ago, I used to make the joke that The Big O was if Batman was an anime with mechs.
Desert Punk - I won’t spoil much; post apocalyptic dark comedy.
Aaaaand one of my favorites with one of my favorite anime openings ever:
Kyouran Kazoku Nikki - regular dude gets thrown into a marriage with one of the most powerful beings to exist
See you in a year!

But one thing you seem to be overlooking is that there are more of us than them. The population of a city, even just part of the population who do not support this, is more than almost every police station across the nation. You can’t suppress 100k+ people with a 10k-20k police force. The more you do, the more people who are going to resist. Add the military if you want, we still outnumber them.
You can point at the protests but those are peaceful. That’s not suppression, that’s keeping shit civil. Once bullets fly it’s gonna be harder to keep people in one self contained area, especially if you have people shooting from their windows.
