Because it’s not kilowatt per hour (kW/h), it’s kilowatt hours (kWh). It would be fine to say GW years, but then the question would be over how long? Most likely one year, which gives us GWy/y = GW.

Because military threat is more imminent. From a logical POV it’s absurd, but sadly most world leaders don’t use their brains or they can’t fathom how a slow change can be slowly killing us.
Interested to see how Putin’s propaganda machine will react to this, since they’ve already for a long time pushed the narrative that NATO, specifically the US and UK for some reason, started it. Quite a 180 to pull when US are allies now.
Sure, but do you know what border checks are?
I’d say they have an irrational hate towards trans people
Isn’t a phobia explicitly an IRrational fear/hate? I feel like being afraid of the harmful influence and thus hating Xitter is completely rational.
As a non-Englisman, I’d say it’s pretty normal for devices and house appliances to have physical text in English but software in another (local) language.
It’s not a mistake. The person of the year is not by definition a good person, but someone who’s had a lot of influence during the year, for better or for worse.
So it’s basically the difference between D and R early votes in Clark County?

2·2 years agoSo how would this system prevent people from voting multiple times or voting as someone they’re not? Could you elaborate on what you meant when you said “alternative ways”? I’m imagining something like fingerprints or retina scans, both of which take more time and money than a simple ID.
Also I’m not too familiar with the DMV, but isn’t that for driver’s licenses only? Surely that’s not the only way to get an ID in the US?
I guess my point is rather than allowing voting without ID, there should be better systems in place to provide everyone with an ID.

91·2 years agoWhy are democrats not as supportive of ID laws? I would assume it’s obvious you need an ID to vote, or am I missing something here?

Not necessarily bad, but it is quite rare. It only occurs when something doesn’t work properly.
