While I agree that your friend’s story sucks, custody cases are handled very differently from rape cases. The justice system is prejudiced against men in that case, whereas in rape cases it is prejudiced against women. In both cases it would be nice if the prejudice is somehow removed.

While I feel sorry for your experience, rape can ruin a life just as much and happens more often (and unpunished) than false accusations. They actually took you serious and made sure to do the proper interogations to find out people were lying. We are just asking they do the same for women who are raped.

As a european, I follow the us shitshow partly because it influences our politics and lives and partly because I feel sympathy for all the people suffering because of it. Mostly however, I follow it because it is ~70% of the content on lemmy. If I had tiktok I would have liked the speech there.
