One of my favorites is suggesting to nuke a hurricane.

Communist centrally planned economies suck. That’s how you end up with panicking factory and farm managers exaggerating their production to the state to not end up in the gulag. A better alternative could be petitioning the government for money to start a worker-owned co-op that produce things at quantities that people would actually want. Do that and keep the government democratic composed of different parties with socialist mindsets at their heart and things should be better for all without the baggage of authoritarianism.

That’ll teach my fellow Latinos to not vote Republican for this and only this election cycle!

Keep religious types out of the Democratic party. They only bring their problematic views and conservative bullshit with them. The party already has enough problems of their own with turncoats, Republican pandering, and kowtowing to rich lobbyists.

This is why TL;DR Bot was a good tool to keep in Lemmy.

Yeah that’s true. That’s why politicians hold $5,000 dollar a plate fundraiser dinners to keep out the “riff-raff.”

Quite the opposite. That’s what lobbyists use to promote corporate/AIPAC/NRA interests among legislators.

Despite all this shit, you still see people defending his long-time supporters like they’re victims and not willing participants. No one who supported Trump after his first term and subsequent failed insurrection should be trusted or sympathized with, ever.

It’s great to see socialist mayors win out. Hopefully this inspires more of them to run for Congress and the Senate. We all know a lot of these Democrats are paid to dive on pretty much anything remotely helpful to the average US citizen.

It might be time to rename the Dems to the Controlled Opposition Party (COP). Seems like a nice counterbalance to the GOP.

No it’s Lemmy.ml filtering. That’s why I moved to db0.

The Grand Old Party and the Controlled Opposition Party once again collude to fuck over everyday Americans after a very extensive Kabuki show.

People are very stupid like that. There’s almost always a midterms pendulum swing in the opposite direction of the ruling party in this country. It’s damn near impossible for people’s opinions to more permanently shift on political parties. I think the last time this happened was with the passing of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. That pretty much cemented racist’s support for the Republican party in this country ever since.

Why is the crazy Jewish space laser lady making sense right now? Is reality breaking down?

It jumped 30% in three months in my area.

The threshold for passing reform is too damn high. There should’ve been some mandatory period to make the change happen more often and easily to keep with the times. Now we’re stuck with an antiquated system that still mentions slavery in its founding documents and its loopholes are so well known that someone’s using it to turn this country into an autocracy.

You mean like tear gas? The thing banned for warfare by the Geneva Convention but ordinary police routinely use on the average citizen?

Some of those who work forces are the same who burn crosses.

Of course AI can read it. It’s like the equivalent of that guy who was writing in the defunct thorn character thinking it would confuse AI but instead it just confused the average reader.

All those Trump-voting farmers in red states sure hate us blue state folks but they love our money.
