The Fighting Fantasy books are wild, I love them.

This was always frustrating. One particular dm did that a lot. Oh, x was showing up so someone took y ability to deal with it? X no longer shows up ever again. Cool. Feels bad.

But if I need to do the thing to multiclass, I can’t be a fighter.

I’m either fighting my husband, and I… can’t beat him up I’d be sad, or I’d literally being fighting my father’s squire. He’d kick my ass.

I inherited my fathers sword, shield, and cloak, so maybe sorceror? Is there one that uses weapons like that? I haven’t played one in ages.

I wanted to play an asexual bard whose only love was the craft. Who wrote just the filthiest poems/songs/etc who just knew what the people wanted even if they didn’t really care about it at all.

The only way I managed to make a character for M&M was with a generator we found and downloaded. Mostly because my character was a bit…complicated, but it still made it go from an extremely long ordeal to a merely mildly long ordeal! I liked the setting though.

Classic Deadlands! Do you want a system that grinds to a halt in combat if you have more than like 3 players? This system is for you! Wait, that’s the bad part.

Do you want a really flavorful world of spaghetti western meets supernatural meets call of cthulhu? Great!

Maybe, like me, you really love playing with a deck of playing cards for everything! You get to do that! Initative? Deck of cards. Stats at creation? Deck of cards. Slinging spells? Deck of cards. Building a fucked up mad science gizmo (my favorite)? Deck of cards!

Did you know Pinnacle, the creators, made an official deck? With all cards plus the two jokers you need. Did you know those cards feel amazing to my little stupid hands??? I love them.

Do you want to do mad science, explode things, and invent completely new shit? Be a mad scientist! Want to gunsling? Throw probably evil magics? Maybe have the power of God on your side (but not anime, that doesn’t exist yet) all set during a sort of longer term civil war? Wheeeee!

It’s my favorite setting and system. I don’t like Reloaded, I hate the Savage Worlds system. It feels so fucking generic. But! I’m glad people enjoy it and have made so many things for it!

I have those, and I still go braless.

The sweating is preferable to the bra, but I have issues with any clothing that’s restrictive and well. Fucking hate bras.

I’ve seen it once…it was used against a single player because he refused to play anything but loners who backstabbed immediately and it was mostly used to piss him off enough he quit the group.

He should have just been kicked out, sure. I think the dm just hated doing that which was cowardly. Buuut he was gone and that game was much more enjoyable!

My parents use to play dnd in high school. Mother was a custom classed healer/oracle. Dad was a very bad thief.

He more looked down on people who didn’t act. There were educated people who did things and he respected them. But being a lazy person who never uses their abilities whatever they are annoyed him.

It’s been like a decade since I read any Conan though so.

I love Classic Deadlands.

Oh my God does combat drag like hell. Everyone can have multiple actions each round, up to five, and everyone draws from the same deck except the gm, so if you have a lot of people, you are drawing like half the deck each turn so chance for that black joker goes up.

But the setting? The roleplay??? Where’s the heart eyes emoji. That shit is my jam. I miss you, Jewish Blessed trying to track down a golem he made. You were a good character.

Shadowrun is amazing and is one of the top systems I hate combat in. Agonizing combat.

The story about Jeremy, the goblin lich who just wants to ‘make’ some friends and takes place entirely in one village and the forest nearby is absolutely as delightful as a kingdom spanning epic of political intrigue and backstabbing!

The first sounds really nice. I want to play that now. My character will be the village granny. She knits little protection doilies.

My first glasses, when I was a kid and plastics just only came out but not thin yet, were very very thick. These days they’re reasonable but still thick compared to other people glasses it seems. Or people seem to think they’re very thick, but my brain always goes “wellll not compared to my first set!”
