  • Being able to vote doesn’t make one immune to exploitation. That’s as bizarre as saying that if you can do a backflip you’re immune to drowning.

The reason why 18 year old are allowed to vote is because they are typically entering the work force or higher education, likely paying rent or taxes, and thus are engaging in a social contract in which they are entitled to exercise their right to vote.

This has nothing to do with the lack of dating experience most 18 year olds have that render them vulnerable to understanding what is and isn’t a healthy relationship.

It’s ironic that you would call me the Iranian morality police while threatening to block me for voicing an opinion that explicitly supports the legal exploitation of age gaps. Again, I never said it should be illegal, just heavily frowned upon.

I cum to the thought of being blocked because nothing says ‘You’re right and I’m out of bullshit to say’ more than that.

  • You’re confusing the law with personal judgment.

No where did I say that huge age gaps need to be illegal between consenting adult. I only made a value statement about how the relationship is inappropriate because younger adults are vulnerable to exploitation. At 18, most people do not have the financial means nor a strong support network to leave an abusive relationship or a manipulative partner.

It has nothing to do with LGBTQ people because being non-binary does not make one inherently vulnerable to exploitation by another non-binary person.

    First off, fuck pedophiles.

But secondly, becoming 18 doesn’t suddenly make one any less vulnerable to exploitation than a 17 year old who is 1 day away from becoming 18.

Just because someone is 18 and ‘legal’, it doesn’t make it not gross for a 40 year old to date them. It’s an improvement from dating a 15 year old, but gross regardless.

  • That’s a little hypocritical of you to call this “widespread, infectious binary thinking” when I was pointing this out in your comment, not advocating for it.

You’re faulting liberals for stifling class warfare through engaging in identity politics, when you said so yourself that it doesn’t have to be either or.

Identity politics isn’t the enemy of class warfare, it’s corporate interests, lobbying, and billionaires, and they want you to do exactly what you are doing now, which is to get liberals to gatekeep each other while they laugh at low tax rates.

  • Everything you claim should be done is what Bernie Sanders supported and that got us nowhere.

It’s really easy to get up on your high horse and claim that leftist identity politics is the problem instead of looking at the systemic failures of American democracy. Lobbying, Gerrymandering, media outlet control, anti-intellectual propaganda, voter disenfranchisement, an underfunded education system, the electoral college, a packed supreme court, etc.

This isn’t a case of ‘if you can stop being righteous and just hate gay people for a moment we could have had universal health care.’ This is a case of the democratic process unravelling in its end stages as the popular candidate lost the vote four times in the seven presidential elections.

  • Calling all cats psychopathic is like saying ‘all my exes are crazy’. It’s probably you, not them. Cats are very sensitive to body language, and like to have their boundaries respected as though they are 20x their size.

My cats bring me their favorite toy springs and meow at me until I accept their gift. They follow me everywhere I go, sleep by my side, and huddle up to me when I cry.

What you described was people liking cats as an ornament, not as a companion. Not to mention, dogs are far easier to train. Someone who enjoys authoritative control would likely prefer dogs over cats.

  • I agree that men should actively be part of the solution, but there is a healthy way of doing it without involving guilt and self-depracation.

Men’s mental health is a critical part of feminism. This is because when men’s issues are accepted and destigmatized, it helps destigmatize it for women too. Encouraging mental health support among men means reducing women’s role in providing emotional labor.

  • It is. And no, I’m not one of the good ones.

Women are tired of ‘man guilt’ the same way PoC are tired of white guilt. At best, it’s self-depracating. At worse, it’s performative. Women want empathy and to be heard, not to hear an empty gesture that then gets weaponized by anti-feminists.

Apology not accepted. If you personally never did any of the above, then an apology is not needed. Nor is it fair to ask of men to apologize on behalf of other men who did. Women don’t want apologies from men who aren’t at fault. They just want men to stand up for them.

I get the sentiment, but wording matters because this is the kind of rhetoric the manosphere loves to take out of context to claim that men have to apologize for just being men.
