I just bought some UniFi gear for the first time. Cloud gateway fiber, u7 pro xgs and u7 long range.

Really like the dashboard, configuration, vlan.

Really dislike the WiFi APs, they’re AWFUL on range/speed. Updated, tweaked settings, Ethernet backhaul… I had better and more reliable coverage with a single ASUS router (but the asus firmware was terrible). A synology mesh worked pretty reliably too but no >2.5gbps wan port.

I also wish their DNS was more full featured. I haven’t dug into this much, maybe it is something I can do by SSHing into router, been too busy trying to get the WiFi improved.

Not annoyed enough to return the gear but really disappointed with WiFi performance.

Trump doesn’t need to go after Bernie and AOC, the Democrats are doing enough of that on their own.

I’m not saying the democrats are as bad as Trump but when “the left party” politicians fall to the right of national polling on a bunch of issues, and the party in general stands for nothing, things are fucked.

Yeah, like someone in the democratic leadership would do something for the good of the country.

I hope the Bernie and AOC rallies start hitting 6 figures for attendance numbers, and that it turns into the start of some real change at the mid-terms. We’ll see.

I have some Zooz relays and can also recommend. There are also two options, you can either get the zooz switches which replace your current switches ( https://www.thesmartesthouse.com/collections/light-switches/products/zooz-800-series-z-wave-long-range-wall-remote-zen37-800lr-battery-powered?variant=40387548938303 ) or the relays ( https://www.thesmartesthouse.com/collections/z-wave-relays/products/zooz-700-series-z-wave-plus-dry-contact-relay-zen51 ) that you install in the box behind your existing switches.

Our house has some fancy switches downstairs so I went with the relays for the few switches I wanted to automate. One thing to note, it’s not always easy to fit the relays in the box, if there’s a lot of spare wires in the box, it can be sort of cramped.
