Yeah, he’s trying to declare any fundraising done by democrats as “fraud.” What I’m saying is that Kamala and the DNC are once again completely out of touch, thinking the original rules are still in place and we’re playing the same game we were 10 or 20 years ago. They could raise all the money in the world and it would not matter. The bigger the number, the louder Elon will yell fraud. Reality doesn’t exist anymore.

Yeah, I participated in the one that was a few days before the inauguration. Heard about it from the front page of the New York Times. I’m pretty sure I heard about the other 700 marches planned for inauguration day here on Lemmy since this is the only social media site I use.

Where did I say you should roll over and accept it or do nothing? The only thing I said was that protest won’t change anything, specifically right now. There are plenty of other things you can do besides protest.

Personally, if we get to a point where there’s an organized multi-state secessionist movement, I’ll join that army in a heartbeat to try to take back at least part of our country. We’re not at that point yet.

I understand wanting to protest, but what could it possibly accomplish? If you are protesting the incoming administration, they’re certainly not going to care. If you’re protesting the current administration, there’s nothing they can do. If you’re protesting the people who didn’t vote, I’m pretty sure they already know we’re mad at them. As of yet there’s no evidence of outright cheating (if it turns out there is, that would be a better time to protest). But protesting just because you don’t like the results of a race is a bit like throwing a tantrum.

I grew up with people who talked like this. It’s all “just a joke” until suddenly it isn’t.

Democrats have to cater to like three different and mostly separate agendas to win. Republicans only have to cater to one. I think the problem is we’ve been expecting Dems to pull off what is essentially impossible.

I first read that as “sheep medication” and… wasn’t even that surprised.

I hate to break it to you but almost every major corporation has a person whose entire job is to translate corporate copy into easy-to-parse, casual, friendly “conversation,” because they do want you to think of the brand as your trusted friend. They’re trying to manipulate us at every level, every interaction.

Ok doc, what do you suggest? I’m 40 and somehow my 80 year old mother has better mobility than I do. I can’t even tell you why I have pain, there is no injury. Doctors can’t tell me why. I’ve tried everything short of opioids and back surgery, and I know those aren’t going to help either. What the hell do you do when your body just doesn’t react normally to exercise, stretching, physical therapy, etc?? It’s not that I want to accept that this is my life now, but there don’t seem to be any other options. Just be glad this isn’t happening to you, I guess.

The out of state group is the Democratic Governors Association. The Republican Governors Association could have spent just as much money on this race, but they chose not to. Washington isn’t going to turn red, so I don’t know why the article would expect R’s to spend big on a race they know they’ll likely lose. What a non-story.
