They almost unanimously voted to release the files. Unanimous votes in the House are not frequent. On this issue at least, he doesn’t have any loyalists in Congress.

There’s nothing Trump can do. His veto would be overridden. He either does nothing and in 10 days it goes through or he acts like he never cared in the first place, no matter how ridiculous that is.

That’ll be tough. It’s likely worded to prevent the release of classification protecting the names of victims or other people involved who aren’t criminally involved, rather than all of it.

After these votes the pressure is on him in a way he has yet experienced. I don’t know if I can think of another issue in which almost all Republican legislators opposed him.
