Increasingly I’m starting to suspect that the US is a client-state of Israel. It’s the only way US domestic & foreign policy around the genocide makes sense.
123·1 year agoThe Democratic party is a Ponzi jobs-program for the children of wealthy families who imagine themselves as political consultants. They are focused on raising money from corporations and comfortable college-educated liberals.
People who have been profiting off the for-profit healthcare system have really fucked themselves.
The purpose of Medicade is to externalize those who healthcare providers and insurance companies cannot squeeze a profit from: The poor, children without parents who have resources to spare, and the under-paid. Without Medicade the financial burden of all these people is going to come crashing down on the rest of the system - making it even worse than inoperable … unprofitable.

If he does try to do this, Democrats will fall over themselves to explain why they support the action, but quibble on how the paperwork was filed to implement it.
It’s okay if this fails. It’s okay if Republicans block this. The true crime is not trying constantly to impeach him … besides, it’s not like Dems are doing anything else.

Medicade is a single-payer healthcare program that is almost entirely for the poor. (eg: People that insurance companies can’t squeeze money out of.)
Without Medicade most hospitals will go bankrupt - and what few social services & charities there are for the poor will be absolutely swamped to the point where they will be ineffective.
Moreover: Medicade prevents medical bills from forcing the poor from choosing between a rent & food and medication they need to live. So if Medicade gets gutted, the US homeless population is going to blow up.
Medicade is a piece of load-bearing social infrastructure that most Americans - who are not on Medicade and barely understand the difference between Medicare and Medicade - are blissfully unaware of it’s ramifications for the entire healthcare system.
Put another way: The only reason we don’t have hordes of people in the streets demanding universal healthcare - is because the poor have Medicade, so it’s in their best-interests to behave.
How’s that been working out over the last 40+ years?
The problem is that the ‘Not Perfect’ party refuses to actually fight or advocate for universal, popular policies. Instead, the "Not Perfect’ party sits on their hands, bullies their base, and waits for everything to collapse so that they are the default option.

Cruel & stupid policy predictably backfires - and gets blamed on Democrats who pretend they had no control over anything.
What I suspect is happening is that Trump is attempting to give Democrats an opportunity to get in on DOGE while it still polls well.

They aren’t wounded - they just don’t have actual values or strategy beyond bullying people to vote for them.
It’s not that the industry is dead - it’s just that health insurance companies are insanely parasitic and are about to kill the host. The death-spiral already started and there simply isn’t enough money to rebuild or ‘reform’ a privatized healthcare system where insurance companies sit at all the choke points.
