Thanks for everyone’s help. Figured out I didn’t need the second Switch, just needed a router that had at least 2 LAN connections.
Thanks everyone. I tried ZimaOS (since apparently that’s what CasaOS is now?) but had issues figuring out the -arr services.
Currently trying YunoHost now, though for some reason it says my GMKtec G9 has a MMC/Micro SD?
I’ve seen the chart, but the problem is I don’t understand the point of some of the things in the chart. The installation instructions are also kind of lacking since I don’t understand Docker well, but it just says to install Cosmos via Docker. I could take a couple of days to learn all this and sacrifice my limited family time, for something I think has a potential benefit, or I could just install one of the other two.
If those features are extremely useful and important, then yes, I’ll have to learn it and I guess that makes Cosmos the best choice. If they’re not really needed, then I guess I should pick one of the other two.
Mostly I’ll be running Jellyfish, file storage and retrieval, and eventually probably something for Valetudo in the future. Also considering putting Waydroid in there somehow to run Stube on the TV as well. But would all those features be incredibly important to have something like Cosmos then?

26·1 year agoYou made me realize Balder’s Gate 3 does in fact contain ample dungeons and even multiple dragons.
But the other party members haven’t
Somewhere on Lemmy someone said it came out that it was Revolt.tv
But yeah, I honestly would constantly type Revolut instead of Revolt before, so that was my guess before too.
I think I’ll be heavily looking into this then! Thanks
You can connect Matrix with Signal?

4·1 year agoBut is it necessary? I’d rather focus more on the tdp.
I know I could just boost the tdp of the n150 if I did want more power, but I see people here running stuff on 10 year old laptops and older Intel n series stuff seemingly without a problem.

1·1 year agoI read somewhere on here that you need a full HomeAssistantOS for Matter/Thread support along with support for a few other things btw. Can’t find anything looking it up myself about what exactly they meant - is that true?
I’m sorry, I didn’t realize I forgot to specify that some were Nintendo Switches, the console
Not quite. How did you make the diagram? I can try making one like that to clarify how everything is connected
I wasn’t sure, since when trying to find devices, the desktop seems to be isolated from everything else.
Also means I can’t use KDE Connect on it unfortunately, and the Bluetooth mode they have didn’t work either.
I’m hoping I’ll at least maybe be able to use it on a server in the future if everything is connected right
I’m finding it a little hard to follow your description sorry, but couldn’t you do something like: Outside Internet -> Modem -> Router -> network switch -> devices?
No, because the desktop is in another room, unfortunately, and wife doesn’t like the idea of running a long lan cable.
I’ll try my best
Instead of two currently? Would it all be in the same network then?
Is the fork called tiny tiny tiny rss?
Yeah, I found a much cheaper alternative that ships from Europe for only 35€.
I’m getting conflicting information on Home Connect about the Sky Connect (now named some weird letter/number combo) that says it supports both matter/thread and ZigBee, but also actually it’s experimental so not really and it works for some but not others, but also support for matter/thread is coming in November…
Mostly I’m looking to make the server work with Ikea stuff plus a couple of lights/led strips that are sold locally that use Matter (Wiz lights I think?)

Yes but you have to find the now kinda rare used NVLink ideally
