  • Again, not being extended a courtesy because you are rich and expect that courtesy to be extended is not the same thing as being the subject of a witch hunt. In EXACTLY the same way a lotto winner might have their old tax records reviewed, people in any kind of spotlight are going to be under increased scrutiny. People like Hunter have access to every resource imaginable to help them stay current on their taxes and avoid violating the law. Problem with people like hunter is that they expect to be treated with kid gloves so they take shortcuts. $1.3 million in back taxes isn’t a “whoopsie” most people get away with, and they shouldn’t. All Joe is showing America here is that the Biden’s are rich people first and American citizens second.

  • This smells like bullshit. Investigations are not tied to the employment of the investigator. Plenty, and I mean PLENTY of investigations are completed and used to try innocent schmucks all the time after the cops or detective has been shitcanned for one misconduct or another.

Making them fire him would open up the administration to yet more misconduct to investigate. Quitting let’s them have what they want with no risk whatsoever and no challenge to their shakey authority in the matter.

It’s a limp waisted conclusion to this limp wristed farce of trying to use the justice system as intended against someone the justice system has been carefully sculpted and tended to protect.

  • Welder here. Aluminum oxide inhalation is correlated with an increased risk for alzheimers, not cancer. Hexavalent chromium is a carcinogen, and that comes from heating up stainless steels. So you are actively replacing a relatively non toxic oxide with the potential for an actually toxic carcinogenic gaseous metal, assuming your pocket knife is some sort of stainless steel (statistically very likely).

This has always struck me as a dumb argument. Before “intellectual property” innovation was just technological advancement. Patenting is just enabling punishment against actual innovators. I am a welder. I make things. If I set out to make a stove, I don’t give a shit who patented what fuel distribution system or air intake methodology, I’m gonna make a damn stove. The entire concept of being able to exclusively “own” a design or concept is reductive to human learning as a whole.
