Selfhosted@lemmy.world•I got a free HP DL380 G5, so I blogged about it !English
1·1 year agoYeah true, but compared to what performance you can have with “normal” hardware, the difference is huge! I’m never saying it can’t be done, but the difference exists!

2·1 year agoI mean it would work, but depends on the load, it can definitely host some website, be used as a backup server or something. I installed a modern version of proxmox and even plain debian on it, so it would definitely work. But performance would be poor for heavy task like a game server.
As for the consistency itself, the server would run 24/7 without an issue, and it’s still built like a tank and it has been made to be resilient!

3·1 year agoIs your jellyfin server time correct? You can have ssl issue if your date and time are not correct. Even though this seems like something else here, worth checking anyway

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Do you use anything to archive content for yourself or others? (research, videos, articles, and anything that could be lost to time or censorship)English
4·2 years agoSeems nice, but you need an external Player to watch the content, which can be goof for some people, but I like the webUI of TubeArchivist (even though it can be enhanced for sure)
