Well, to be fair, I live in America. USAID helping world hunger is good and I support that. And we could have done a bit more. And USAID manipulating foreign production to maintain my countries dominance is also to my benefit. Very much so.

It’s not evil. It’s morally ambiguous at best.

I want to help people, and I want my representation to do the same, but not to the point that it undermines my own countries dominance, and therefore my own livelihood. Because the other country wants that same power to themselves for their own benefit. And probably not to my own benefit.

I think it’s fare to say that the next country will give way less of a shit about my well being. That’s my problem. My representation failed miserably.

It’s not evil at all. It’s actually a very reasonable and a very human way of looking at the scenario.

Some people hold family relationships above politics. If that’s not for you, that’s fine. But it’s not a wild idea or unreasonable. It’s just a different way of dealing with a political/family dynamic and what you find more important.

I’m already getting blasted with ads for the heir apparent to replace Beto here in Texas. Some baby faced compromise that the Texas DNC has picked because of the fucking algorithm or something. Useless bastards all of them. All the Dems in deep red that I know are watching with waited breath for mamdami to win so we can use it as an actual example of what real policy ideals and ‘fuck the DNC’ effort can be. It’s a thousand miles away but that’s what we fucking need to show that these basic ass milquetoast candidates don’t work. Ann Richards hasn’t been relevant for thirty years but they keep trying the same goddamn thing. Fingers crossed they figure it out eventually.

You are probably right. But from personal experience with both of the people who admitted they were wrong, the huge dose of humble pie they ate to ever admit to me, that’s takes real effort. One sees it in his pocketbook. He may forget. The other sees it after a solid dozen of his employees have been deported after ice raids. He’s hurting in his pocketbook and in the personal relationships he has built with his employees.

To be fair I’ve told these people that all farmers should be voting dem across the board, quite militantly, for years now. But guns and “Jesus” made them think I was a madman. I know and understand who’s blood and sweat our tiny world is built on,and finally they are starting to understand it. I hope it is a lesson that sticks. I’ll be doing my damned best to make sure it does.

These are people that have fallen for propaganda. Decades of it. They aren’t bad. They are just stupid for not paying attention. We can fix that. Call it out but please don’t forget your empathy. I’m having a hard enough time as it is.

I took no victory lap when either of them admitted it. The fact they admitted it was mind-blowing in and of itself. I didnt think they could ever be broken to admit it.

My response, “we’ve got three more years of this bullshit”.

We’re all in this together. But now you fucking understand.

If the usa turned inward on itself any more it would become a black hole.

I’m no fan of dhs. But on a national scale. On a world scale, This is insane and dangerous. It’s mind blowing how badly our government is behaving and the short sightedness of it all. Multiple countries at war or on the verge of war. Elimination of usaid and most foreign aid. Intelligence organizations decimated by layoffs and budget cuts. Internal conflicts rising and dissent growing. A paramility forming that can ignore our internal rules and arrest people on a whim…

This is what happens when the people in charge have no idea what they are doing.

This will take decades to sort out. Maybe more. And we have years more of exactly this sort of behavior.

The American empire is falling. Torn apart from the inside by greedy madmen.

As an American, I can’t say I’m thrilled about it. But God damn it is happening quickly.

This brings me joy.

I would say that every public radio station has little faith in Congress at this point. Having worked myself in public radio for several years, I would say that their concern is completely justified.
