  • My wife runs a large online D&D guild, with games 4-5 nights a week (not that you play in all of them, they just have that many people). They’re no strangers to kicking people that cause drama, and they have several trans and non-binary members already.

I will say that they might not be able to bring their character in, as-is, if it’s heavily based on “official” D&D lore and sourcebooks. The group has spent 8 years building all their own lore and tuning some homebrew rules and classes. It’s mostly built on the 5e foundation, though.

I believe this is where they’d go to apply.

  • Nah, I definitely think it was a ruse, just not this one. What the fuck were they ever gonna DO with 3 million e-mails coming in within a week? Actually analyze them all to idendify each employee’s value? Nonsense.

    A) It was a cheap way to bank an excuse to fire anyone who didn’t respond “for cause” at some later point when they identify people they want to fire, and are looking for cause.

    B) They were planning to feed all the responses into an LLM or something similar. Maybe as a way to look for certain “woke” buzzwords and make a hitlist of people to target for firing.

  • Great article. Teardowns are top-quality.

I particularly was struck by this:

most likely by justifying an exception to heightened scrutiny, based on the fact that the case involves “medical judgments.”

If these fucks gave a shit about “medical judgements” this case wouldn’t exist.
