Best part of the city.
People are generally cold and leave you alone.
But when an emergency happens everyone pulls together beautifully.
Watch videos of the Boston bomber. They go from having fun, to absolute shock, to fucking trauma surgeons leaping out of windows to start triage in less than 15 seconds, no movie could capture this.

Last week got my new epyc server with GPU running ollama and all the trimmings.
This week linked my 2 home bases with wire guard, all the subnets mesh and the wifi isolation is solid. Performance is surprisingly good considering they’re 9 time zones apart on different hemispheres.
Migrating plex to jellyfin to get hw accel working.
Also trying to get my second base multiple statics and 10gb if possible, rural fiber in Europe is unbelievably aweome, hope to drop Comcast business back home if it works.
Got someone to work with on a new company, so that’s part of this, though my day job relies on this too.
Doing that switch soon.
Plex doesn’t do hw accel well, which kind of defeats the purpose.
Same, except the irc, I have a python thing to interface.
Stealing your idea, that sounds awesome.
That’s not something they natively support, it’s hard links or a copy.
You have utterly and completely misunderstood the goal all along.
The goal was never improving things, or helping people.
The real goal, the only goal that truly matters, is being able to feel superior behind their keyboards/phones , it’s knowing that everyone else is evil and stupid and weak, and if they only did exactly whatever crazy idea you had last night in your pot-fueled hallucinations, then everything would be perfect.
But those in power can’t admit how wrong/evil/stupid they are, so everybody has to suffer.
It’s exactly the same as southern baptists celebrating when a hurricane hits because it’s a clear sign God hates gays.
Don’t get me wrong, the right is just cruel, vicious, evil, but the left is something almost worst: Hipsters.
I left the night of the election, when literally all of lemmy was screaming that a vote for Harris was voting for genocide.
Fucking morons.

Dude you have problems.
Trump literally told the proud boys to stand by, called neo-nazis “good people” and I just don’t even get where you’re going.
Politics isn’t a sport, and the fuckers who didn’t vote deserve the blame because people will be hurt.
You’re the one who seems to be trying to make it a game.
You’ll never outrun the propaganda, particularly when you’re as much a vector for it as a victim of it.
Mother-fucker, I outran literal rednecks with bats, I lived there, what the fucking fuck?!
Are you serious? You genuinely believe it isn’t that bad?
What do you think it’s like?!!?!

Ignorant moron.

Seriously, as a brown person, shut the fucking fuck up! You have no idea what living in this country under republicans is like, you can’t begin to imagine it and you need to take your privileged dick out of your overprivileged ass and realize what many of us are going to have to face now.
Literally have the KKK reforming in anticipation of his inauguration, it’s “good people on both sides” all over again.
Not having a genocide of PoC at home wasn’t one of them.
Listen, as a brown person in America, just be honest.
You caea about the genocide of brown people elsewhere, just not here.
It’s OK, the vote is over, you don’t have to deny it anymore, we get it, it’s not like we’re surprised or anything, it’s basically America’s legacy.
The shocking part?
We thought you at least cared about women, but you’re literally no better than the racist sexist fascist neoconfederates that are proud to vote Trump.
Just be honest with your words, your actions already spoke the truth.
Seriously, fucking racist as fuck ‘left’.
We’re going to have a genocide of brown people right here, but they don’t give the slightest shit.
This needs to be a national thing.
“Make conservatives incels again!” but for real this time.
Google is pushing av1 because of patents, but 266 is just plain better tech, even if it’s harder to encode.
This same shit happened with 265 and vp9, and before that, and before that with vorbis/opus/aac.
They’ll come back because it’s a standard, and has higher quality.
Maybe this is the one time somehow av1 wins out on patents, but I’m encoding av1 and I’m really not impressed, it’s literally just dressed up hevc, maybe a 10% improvement max.
I’ve seen vvc and it’s really flexible, it shifts gears on a dime between high motion and deep detail, which is basically what your brain sees most, while av1 is actually kind of worse than hevc at that to me, it’s sluggish at the shifts, even if it is better overall.
Ran the stack manually for decades, but spam makes it harder.
Run mailinabox now, it takes care of everything pretty well.
