Cynical and bitter mutualist & consequentialist. I hate accelerationists and their apologists as much as I hate fascists.

The problem is people believing things at face value. Asking for evidence is good though.

There are facts, there is scientific consensus, there is research, etc. However, “truth” as a word gets abused so much by quacks and nutjobs that I’m always a little wary of a person when I hear it from someone.

  • They’re all 4-star general West Point graduates. They do not agree with 80% of the speech, and whether they’ll follow orders is not a given. There is a balance of power at play.

No one is “the people’s friend” and that’s not the point. Some of these guys believe in nothing but power, but a significant number are also constitutional ideologues. And both of those groups among the generals know their power is both at risk and so is the constitution. And this meeting has been largely been disliked according to reporters among all of them.

    Pete Hegseth is completely retarded.

  • Don’t get me wrong: We are indeed fucked beyond repair.

However, we have a dying fascist autocratic president who is trying to achieve dictatorship. We don’t have a dictator quite yet. And chances are he’ll be dead before he achieves that goal.

We’ll just become a rightwing hellhole as Vance more competently consolidates power for capital than Trump could dream of. And then the Democrats will probably barely win the presidency but it wont matter because they probably wont have the Senate, they definitely wont have the courts, and maybe even not have a majority in the House with all the gerrymandering. Nothing will get done and we’ll rot and liberals and socialists will be at each other’s throats too much over Trump’s previous repeated victories to pull anything together to meaningfully fight back.

  • I already don’t even have a Disney+, Hulu, or ESPN+ account. So if you are trying to say I should participate and cancel my subscriptions I literally can’t.

My point still stands: Boycotts barely do much at all. They can be a small boost to a political project if they are done alongside something more substantial but otherwise whatever they accomplish is essentially washed away in the noise eventually if its the only thing done.

And at worst, they can be a form of slacktivism. Satiating one’s feeling that they need to contribute to a cause without meaningfully actually doing so.

Better methods would be: attempting to induce shame in those working at Disney and getting them to resign, harassing their CEO, spreading propaganda about the content of the company itself that actually hurts their bottom line, and <multiple tactics redacted for legal reasons>.

Hell, merely promoting alternative content would even be better than a boycott. Then you are satiating people with something other than Disney slop for who knows how long so they don’t even have to make the decision of going without all while promoting smaller companies/organizations or creators.

This wont work, the libs realize you dragged them into the mud (because you guys keep saying that’s your intent) and view you as an enemy that is working to bring about their suffering. That’s exactly why its so common for people to complain about “protest non-voters” in the first place. They already use their middle class resources to simply flee or batten down the hatches & hide, and leave the poor and minorities behind to suffer. Some small portion of them seem to even (in desperation) side with or play nice with fascists to survive.

Non-libs who are also non-accelerationists are mostly just going to grow cynical and bitter. They aren’t going to throw their lives away for a violent revolution they did not sign up for.

Accelerationism is aggressively stupid and it will always fail. You wont get enough people willing to work with you to start a revolution when its obvious you dragged people into hell with you. You can’t create the conditions artificially. You just have a bunch of scared and angry people bickering and when they can afford it, fleeing.
