  • They still need FEDERAL judges to even bring an indictment, WITH EVIDENCE OF A CRIME, in order to get a warrant, and then maybe arrest somebody.

Federal Judges absolutely hate having their time wasted, and this DOJ has done nothing but waste their time

Judges DO NOT have to keep wasting their time with the DOJ requesting indictments if they continue to prove in court that are acting in bad faith (mala fides). So maybe one or two tries at this, and the DOJ will never allow them to file for this bullshit again.

I’m sure they’ll just start taking everything to certain judges to get them rubber stamped. We already know there’s one out there who will publicly suck on trump.

  • I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Marxist-Leninists describe their disagreements in terms that turn criticism of them into gibberish. I think it’s exactly what Orwell was writing about based on his experiences.

Nail on the head. There’s a particularly active lemming from the tankie instances that always, and purposefully, devolves everything into arguing about everyone else using words incorrectly.

  • I’m mildly amused that you think there are any gamers on lemmy that still use microsoft. Isn’t it mandatory to use linux to access the fediverse? ;)

For ubisoft, I have no idea. Everything I seem to read around here indicates most are dissatisfied ever since one of the assassin’s creed games a decade ago or something.

  • It’s at this point, the close range scans indicate not just some “organic gases” but trillions of organisms , all of them alien, and worst of all, possessing a chirality opposite to your own.

Your immune system and their pathogens, and your pathogens, are wholly incompatible. You touch anything, you get sick and die, and they get sick and die.

Organisms on earth use right handed chirality without issue. Even humans manipulate some. Eating an alien would probably go poorly, but interacting with one (all you mass effect fans out there can lose the burgeoning boners, creeps, I mean in something as light as a ‘handshake scenario’) wouldn’t be some terrible biological curse. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10851380/ I’m trying to scratch my head to remember because it’s been a while, but I think there are archaebacteria that use the D forms even more than the normal incorporation into peptidoglycan. It’s not a death sentence.

  • A year, lol. Most places have you on the street within a month of being hired, and you are placed with something called a field training officer, FTO. Any will laugh you out of the area as a poser if you’re trying to infiltrate their social lives to gather intel to use if you use TO. The field training phase lasts for 4 months at most. Cops cycle in and out of the job so fast they would never be able to afford a full year of training.

They also don’t use cops who have had tons of complaints. Those get given desk duty. The field trainers are the ones who know how to ‘write good,’ so they can criticize the reports that the rookies write. The rookies, mind you, are given all the shit cases that the others don’t want to work on, allegedly so the rookies can get experience in writing a bunch of different reports.

The bit about other departments not giving you a chance if you’re failed from a training phase is mostly true, but remember that the whole ‘desperate for new cops’ thing means the small places will hire you if you can breathe without wheezing, and sometimes even if you get out of breath walking to the donut store counter.

Remember kids, knowing is half the battle! don’t use this info in casual conversation to shmooze a cop you meet at the bar or a party to pick up details on their agency >.> <.<

  • The real problem with WoD games? The setting books and DM intros are always so good at crafting that beautiful eerieness of the monsters in the shadows, while the average group handles everything by clunking around like toddlers on stilts.

My group tried three times, then it was back to standard ‘kick-in-the-door’ style games. Roleplaying isn’t the easiest thing, and it sucks. I just want a good werewolf or hunter game with some nice politicking and investigation. I’m not even asking for anything crazy, like an introspective mage or changeling meditation session! /cries_in_desperate_desire
