I’m starting to think Greene is just a little slow and legitimately believed that most of the GOP were not pedophiles and was caught off guard when they were so fervently trying to block the release of the files.

It’s not quite like that. Those geriatrics remember when they were children in the 60s and 70s through rose-tinted glasses. People were respectful to their elders, Technology was simple and could be understood by the layman, and the economy was great and only getting better.

Then they hear some politician who is their age that wants to bring all that back, starting by sticking it to the freaks and weirdos that made the country so strange in the 90s and 2000s.

They simply don’t understand why things were so good in mid century America, and took the wrong lessons from history.

In short, they want to be the class of old people that the young were forced to respect out of fear of violence, they want technology to regress to a point where you don’t need a CS degree to effectively use it, and they want their money to be worth more than it is.

I’m not sure if that’s true or not.

Yeah, this exactly. It’s really hard to find actually credible sources for many of the rightwing “facts” they want to publish.

I wonder why there isn’t a more reliable source of info coming out of North Korea. It must be a near utopia in there if the only people that make it out of the country are these unreliable defectors that universally agree that life is bad there.

It’s kind of funny how when your goal becomes to present factual information, there aren’t many especially right-leaning sources. I wonder why that might be.

This was exactly my point. Money is real because having a common item that everyone agrees is valuable, which can be used to trade for goods and services universally is a boon for society.

Functionally, it doesn’t matter if money is just some special paper, or a handful of metal discs or some number displayed on a computer screen, even if those things are technically worthless without people to ascribe value onto them.

This is also correct, but a different problem.

If there isnt enough money moving in circulation, it typically means that people are saving it for hardship rather than spending, which is in turn a sure sign of a poor economy.

The rich assholes at the top have been able to basically trust that smarter people will handle policies to prevent a major depression. Anyone that was old enough to remember the last one is dead now. Anyone that lives quarter to quarter doesn’t care about market conditions 90 years ago.

This is only true in the abstract. Yes, you are technically correct. Money only has value because a large enough group of people agree that it does.

But money is a shared token that describes the value of someone’s time and effort which can be exchanged for goods and services. It’s a common thing that can be bartered that everyone will accept. It’s an incredibly useful thing for a society to have.

Broadcast management needs to be ignored by the current administration more than they need someone who will speak truth to power.

With the footholds the GOP have right now, Trump is basically America’s first king. Things need to change pretty drastically to fix this.

It is a little weird that D&D is synonymous with tabletop RPGs, considering how many other great games are out there; especially these days. But D&D is by no means a bad game and people should still play it.
