Yeah. It’s pretty funny. It made me think of some of the rather conservative takes that are passed off as leftism on lemmy, which is how I got the title. Of course, meddling in the economy is straight fascism, too, of course. I really wish I had chosen something else now.

The Marxist definition of socialism is that the government owns the means of production. That definition prevailed during the Cold War when you had such socialist countries. Communism is a utopian state which is promised to come after socialism. It’s the system of a post-scarcity society where you don’t have property because everything is abundant. The state withers away because it is no longer needed. Basically, it’s a society like in Star Trek. In Marxist thought, the development is: feudalism->capitalism->socialism->communism
Of course, it’s not wrong using the term “socialism” more loosely.

I can see what she’s doing, but I don’t know off the top of my head if there is anyone actually claiming that figure.

Based on that figure, undocumented immigrants have a much lower crime rate than average. If the figure was as high as she claims, they would have to be absolute saints.

They made inquiries with law enforcement agencies and no one took responsibility. The rather optimistic guess in the article is that the cops were acting on their own, which makes the use of the jammer illegal.
That might be the nadir of his career.
