If you’re healthier consuming meat than you would be consuming a plant-based diet, you’re a statistical outlier. Most people would be healthier with a plant-based diet.

Double SNAP on produce has been in effect in many places for many years. Food insecurity has a lot to do with the availability of fresh food, the cost of storing it, the time it takes to prepare it, variability, waste, and calories-per-dollar nowadays.

If you’re defining compassion as believing everyone has the same human rights then I’ve got loads of it. The problem with the folks you’re talking about is that they don’t believe the same. Whether or not they deserve what they get or get what they deserve is out of scope for my definition of compassion.

Republicans control the house, senate, and presidency. Where’s the leadership?

Elections have consequences. If Republicans wanted a supermajority they should have worked harder on election day. Now they have to negotiate, they’re just choosing not to.

People who are actively working for change in concrete ways don’t often call attention to themselves by posting about it on public social media. If nobody in power is working to silence you, you’re probably participating in controlled opposition and not much else.

Elections are designed to be democratic. Political parties are largely unregulated and can generally make their own rules about who they choose to run as a candidate. Remember this next time the Republicans get a big group of powerful party members together to say how much they don’t want a certain orange-tinted fascist to be their candidate, their party could have run someone else. Winning was more important. Similarly, the democrats are well within their rights and the law to have previously committed “superdelegates” or just to skip the primary process entirely and run the vice president.
