Check on Goods Unite Us to find out if they donate more to Republicans or Democrats. This was literally my first thought. You’d basically have to go through every one of the millions of components across every square inch to verify there was nothing sketchy going on. Not to mention, you’d have to review all of the software and firmware to make sure it wasn’t modified or sabotaged in some way. It would take an excruciating amount of effort to make it “safe”.
