In particular if you look at the long term (even just a couple of years): many homeless just need a little help to start climbing the ladder again. So housing and mental care would allow them to quickly become productive members of society. Prisons just lock them into a circle of poverty.

Gosh, you are way more negative than me… fingers crossed that it doesn’t come to that
Part of the propaganda’s aim is to rob people of choices. Letting them think there is no hope is a key factor. The message overall is “this is the only way”, stamping out all other possibilities.
I don’t have much hope, but seeing the propaganda machine going full force for the NYC election actually made me feel like the was a chance for change. If the results didn’t matter or were obvious, they wouldn’t have cared to meddle.
That was such great news! I had already been bracing for an overtly racist NL, so happy they didn’t go that far right!
It’s a double punishment: first, make everything that is not junk food out of their budget. Then shame them for buying unhealthy foods. Extra points for fat shaming.
Cool class! I have played quite some rangers (I just find them neat!) and often there was a little bit of home brewing to keep it on post with the other classes.
I’ll keep this class in mind for next time! ;) thanks
Math nerd to the rescue!
“==“ is either math for constantly equal (there are no situations in which they are different) or programming for boolean equal, aka the question of are these two things equal.
Horrible, but I can’t say I am against it… my approach of “let’s wait and see before making a judgement” is usually completely drowned out…
And today i pensa about steers. I knew bull and cow, I didn’t know the castrated male name. Love to expand my knowledge at every opportunity. (And I am heartbroken that 54% of Americans apparently can’t! The whole government has failed them)
Great suggestion! Will try to work on it next time. I must admit my characters have very little character development usually. I should work on that!
I want to join in! Can I be an ally reading my own book on my own couch?
Metagaming kills the game!
I took some very silly decisions because that’s how I thought the character would behave. Only once did I regret it: I made too shy a character and that made for a boring trip. Usually, it was a lot of fun. Honorable mention: being flown away by an angry dragon that I knew would be defeated soon without my character’s intervention, but my character obviously didn’t care. So they went >splat<. Worthy death at the end of a campaign!
Other fun fact: the costs to users are absurd if you compare them with EU. Both costs of the insurance and out of pocket costs.
Uhm… the wikipedia page is extremely vague, none of the google results come from a reliable source… so the only conclusion I got to is that Operation Gladio existed and people were pissed when they found out, but it’s unclear how many people were involved and what exactly they did other than waiting for a communist take over that didn’t happen. So the meme stating that’s the reason for Italy being right wing seems a fairly wild extrapolation.
I can’t find all that much about activities of Gladio in Italy, do you have sources?
You write about (a quite shitty) reality, but the picture is somewhat of a dream, everyone is projecting their own wishes all around it. Running water, electricity, in the vicinity of supermarket/restaurant/pharmacy… it’s all there, in magic country land.
I am also a city person. I love disconnecting for holidays, but then I am back with similar minded friends, in a city with all city commodities and I don’t think I would switch.
Scale it considering that a president is appointed for 4 years, a monarch for life. Overall, I don’t find it weird that people need time to mourn when their political system gets a good shake…

Our society (with US at the forefront) is built on contradictions. On one hand, capitalism says you don’t deserve anything, you have to earn it. On the other hand, consumerism says you deserve every new gadget, luxury, treat.
I believe both are false: everyone deserves a reasonable standard of living (UBI?), nobody inherently deserves more than that but it should be possible to earn it. And we should acknowledge that earning something is not a matter of moral superiority, but a combination of some effort and some luck.
